Thanks to social media they're all overrun with people now in peak season. You have to go in shoulder or off season now to try to avoid the masses. When we went to Glacier National Park a couple years ago we went in beginning of Sept and it was still very crowded. it's tougher with some because they close pretty early in fall due to snow. I think Glacier was closing down a couple weeks after we were there so there's not much wiggle room.

There was one parking lot next to a couple hiking spots that you had to get to at like 6am to get a parking spot. By the time we got done the first hike around 10am people were circling the lot trying to find parking spaces/waiting for people to leave. It was crazy.

Yikes! But I can say it's crazy how hot the sun is when you get to higher elevations. Even though the temp was only like 65 with no humidity the sun was hot AF up on those mountains. The ones we started a little bit later and were coming down later in the afternoon I felt like jumping off to get down and away from the heat.
