This is false. The USD is stronger in Japan, SK, Thailand, Colombia, Brazil, and a bunch others. I don't know about Europe, but I imagine it's cheap outside of Germany, Italy, Spain, etc.


The biggest cost for a trip is the flight. Once you have that, everything else is easy
even if the dollar goes further in some places, it's still thousands of dollars you wouldn't have spent otherwise

Largely this. There's a lot of headache, hassle, etc. involved.

Nothing wrong with doing it, but the people who act like their identity revolves around it and shit...I think that's more what people are hating on. Also a huge portion of the people really "into traveling" are probably just vapid NPCs primarily doing it for whatever BS reasons (ie to post on social media and shit) - like the "eat, pray, love" type sloots.

Some traveling is good. It's not my life or identity and I don't love it enough to make it that. It is nice going to see beautiful places or go to fun places once or twice a year. Even if someone lives in a state with beaches, no beach in the US is going to beat a beach in Bermuda, Fiji or the Mediterranean. The only beaches that would come close would be Hawaii. You're not going to see sights as beautiful as Glacier National Park, Red Rocks in Sedona, the Grand Canyon in Florida.

Also, lets be real. Miscers hate on pretty much anything that they'd have to leave their basement for. And even things that you can do in your basement. They hate traveling, live music/concerts, reading books etc, etc. Instead of saying "that activity" is not for me, they hate on and make fun of anyone who enjoys them.

One of the last times I was in Colombia, I met some dudes and we were partying super late with some chicks at a club. We got pulled over by the police going back to our Airbnbs for the night, and ended up giving the cops some money and did a photoshoot behind the taxi of everybody in the group getting fake arrested in handcuffs while we were all coked out.

I’ve taken a couple trips a year most of my life. Theres a balance between traveling too much and seeing/experiencing new places a few times a year. My best memories ever are from when I was traveling, not from work or school. I don’t have a wife/gf and most of my friends have families now so have been doing a lot of solo traveling lately with some family/friends trips mixed in

Nothing wrong with it if it's your thing. I just don't care that much for it because I have hobbies so travel isn't the only time I do anything other than work or pretending to look after my kids when underpaid (and let's be honest likely abusive) daycare staff are the ones doing the actual parenting.

I’ve been to Japan twice this past year and it was great.

Going to new places opens you to new experiences, which is a pinnacle in life.

the US is one of those strange places where people are taught that you HAVE to travel outside of the country. there are literally no benefits to it other than seeing iconic places like the pyramids. however, the real experience from the pyramids and wherever else is that you will get hassled for money. The new tactic is to instigate tourists to try to shake them down for money as well. I mean get it, can you imagine going to jail in one of those countries trying to explain self-defense.
