People should use the technique that works best for their body, leverages and working around injuries...not what a keyboard warrior tells you is "impressive" to use.

I guess ultimately i think they should be separate lifts, hopefully one day some kunt takes over the sport and has the same train of thought as I do and makes the change.
Separate the wusses from the real men.

you can make more strength and muscles gains whilst sedentary than someone who trains

lmao at butthurt people who can't pull sumo and bash on it.
1) WR dead is still a conventional pull (not sumo). If sumo was easier, why wouldn't he pull sumo instead?
2) for some people conventional is harder to do properly and for others sumo is harder to do properly. it is almost solely a matter of extensions.
3) while sumo can slightly decrease total distance traveled by the bar, it requires greater hip flexibility than conventional and requires greater recruitment from certain muscle groups that most do not have well developed
do whichever works best based on your extensions. If you can do both, do both. But bashing on one because you can't or don't know how to perform it is pretty stupid.

Y'all just gon' act like sumo is some magical pull that adds 50lbs to your dead? It's a variation that suits some people more than others based on their personal leverages?
I do conventional because it feels the most natural to me. Sumo completely kicks my ass and it blows my mind how people get the bar off the floor with serious weight in that position.

I can confirm that Sumo is not some magic. I've been lifting conventional forever. My PR is 535 lbs....which is nothing special but OK for a natty. Switched to Summo for a while and actually lifted slightly less at first. After a few weeks I was hitting the same numbers summo as conventional. I actually prefer conventional and recently switched back. I will still throw summo in there sometimes to switch it up though.

For sumo guys it's usually harder off the floor and easier at lockout, while the reverse is true for conventional.
At the end of the day, you're still just lifting several hundred pounds off the floor.
