Anyone who thinks they shouldn't have shot the gorilla is a legitimate moron. In that kind of situation you CANNOT take the chance that the gorilla might not hurt the child. It had to happen this way, the reality is animals are still animals.

I feel like if you're old enough to climb to the point where you manage to fall into a gorilla cage one might reasonably expect you to be intelligent enough not to climb and fill into a fuarking gorilla cage. We have so little natural selection left in the world, I think this child was just supposed to die. If not today then next week when he locks himself inside the refrigerator or chugs a pint of bleach or whatever.

I think this hypothesis is further supported by the fact that his idiot parents whose idiot genes he carry didn't manage to keep their idiot son from climbing and falling into a gorilla cage.

Back in the good old days it used to be that if you weren't paying enough attention or was just a thick kunt in general you might get savaged by some kind of wild animal, wander off a cliff or try to swallow a cactus. There was a limit to how fuarking stupid you could be and get away with it.

If you crossed that critical threshold of idiocy then you'd end up being alligator poop. Nowadays it's pretty damn hard to die simply because you're BAD at living. You can be paralyzed from the neck down in a vegetative state and still be kept alive artificially.

The risk of getting killed by a wild animal today is infinitesimal if you live in western society. And this little genius almost managed to get himself beaten to death not by a wild animal, but a FUKKING CAGED ONE. It's not like the gorilla pulled off some great escape and managed to sneak his way out of the cage while disguised as a groundskeeper, the kid went in there by himself. You can't just casually stroll in there, it's a fukking 12 foot drop. Have you ever seen a child just walk off a rooftop because they don't understand 12 foot drops are dangerous? And that's WITHOUT 400 lbs beasts at the bottom. At no point in my life have I ever been that stupid, kid or no.

This child will grow up to be the reason we have warning labels instructing us not to put our children in the dishwasher or operating heavy machinery while under the influence of drugs.

There are multiple barriers in place to prevent idiot kids from falling into this literal pit of death. This kids obvious lack of self-preservation instinct combined with the fact that his trailer-trash parents didn't even glance at their child over the entire time it took for him to get himself in there really tells you all you need to know about whether or not they should be passing on their genes to the future of mankind. I get that they had to shoot the gorilla and it was a no-win situation, but I still think the parents should be on the hook financially for the loss of the gorilla and face criminal charges for endangering their kid.

They caused this to happen, so it would be messed up if they just were able to walk away consequence free.
