I am just trying to figure out why they even made this movie in it's current state.

Who were they trying to sell it to? The 30-40 years who grew up watching Ghostbusters, or the kids who are not even afraid of ghosts anymore? Since they have been desensitized with extreme gore and violence since the 90s.

If it's the second one. Then they are idiots.

If it was the first one. Great job. You basically did the opposite of what every true fan asked for. Crap. The Ghostbuster game is more appealing and true to the source than this garbage.

Even put aside the fact the movie looks like complete garbage - if you try to cram something down people's throat their not going to like it. I went and watched bridesmaids because it looked funny, and it was pretty good. That was an all female cast

I won't watch this because the trailers look awful and are completely unfunny. Has nothing to do with "sexism"

It's not because of an "all female cast", as lots of movies like "bridesmaids" for example can have it sure.
It's because they butchered an awesome franchise my cramming an "all female cast" down the throat of Hollywood and it's viewers in an attempt for "female empowerment" and symbolizing the "women can do it too" feminazi propaganda.

Looking forward to the picture of "girl power" in front of a newly built major bridge or structure created by all women from the ground up...

They're riding on the coat tails of the original cast by calling it "Ghostbusters" instead of ghostbusters 3, or ghostbusters returns or whatever.

Show of hands; who's buying a ticket just to report back to misc how chitty it was?

I think the movie will be #1, but will overall underperform because it's not DC or Marvel.

It's had a ton of paid promotion and otherwise. Hell, this thread is unpaid advertisement. Controversy and promotion will drive week 1 viewership...word of mouth after that.

I'm waiting for the first reviews, the trailers weren't very encouraging.

The movie 100% looked like chit, the trailer was cringeworthy as fuk, but...

I saw a chit ton of people especially here crying because it was a female cast. So you can't say they are entirely wrong, but it also was a horrible script/casting decision.
