Because what is the point?
How dare you!

Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.

tbh. I dont care about the people who do drugs, just dont rob me, hold me at gunpoint and dont die infront of me. I support the OD stations they are creating, where you can go overdose all you want, in a drug zone. Easier to pick up the bodies that way, I am against them using the chemical to bring them back from OD's though. Major waste of tax money

"No one seems to have noticed that a loss of a sense of shame means a loss of privacy; a loss of privacy means a loss of intimacy; and a loss of intimacy means a loss of depth."

The bravest and most noble are not those who take up arms, but those who are decent despite everything; who improve what it is in their power to improve, but do not imagine themselves to be saviours. In their humble struggle is true heroism.

Although I absolutely agree we are all little pusssaaayyys compared to previous generations, I'm even seeing people who are 40-60 having a hard time.

It's not just a "who's generation is better" type of thing.

There's some real issues at hand. The suicide rate for males age 25-35 is going to skyrocket in the coming years.

Being too dumb to not recognize that being a punching bag isn't an effective or humane learning tool makes you a tough person?

You just described a bunch of retards who couldn't change their own slave conditions and idolize their lack of self-respect. LOL.

You're all missing the point. Average income : 30k before tax. Housing and foods easily eats 2/3 of that. Not everyone is capable of creating a career and bring in reasonable $. Those mass numbers of people have no reason NOT to be depressed. 30k used to go a long way 20 years ago.

Previous generations used to be "tougher", sure, but that is insignificant compared to current state of economy and job market.

Most of your generation can't hold under pressure because you've never been put under pressure....Adversity build character

...and note that I'm not saying everyone in your generation is a p**y. I know some tough sum bishes that have grown up on farms or people who have had parents have made it rough on them.

The entire landscape of relationships has changed. We've all heard the old saying "humans are social creatures". So obviously when you change the way we interact socially it has a big ripple effect.

Spontaneous social interaction is often frowned upon and met with contempt meaning that socializing has become a thing limited to a very small number of places and occasions. People have a harder time meeting and feeling safe and comfortable talking to people. They will not put themselves out there as much because society has shunned it.

Gender roles have left everyone confused and lost. Women no longer value femininity - a trait that men wildly desire. Rather, they seek to prove to the world how "strong" they are but this often comes from the wrong place. It stems from narcissism, insecurity, hatred and pent up rage. This leads to them doing things with the mindset of having to put men down in order to raise themselves up. Instead of showing the world how strong, smart, and capable they can be, they may try to show how incompetent, silly, and foolish men are.

This has left men feeling shamed for being masculine. Feeling guilty for being a man. They may become white knights or beta male SJWs to win validation from nastry women. Men can no longer express masculinity through approaching women, being assertive, showing feelings, expressing thoughts, etc. Society will shame them.

Social media has taken everybody out of the present moment. Lingering in the back of everyone's mind is "where should I eat to get the best instagram photo", "dam should have snap chatted that", "wait let me get this on camera", "hey say that again for my snapchat", etc. Actions in life are dictated by how they will be perceived on social media and how it will in turn affect their status and projected lifestyle image.

The realm of dating has been reduced to a superficial pick and choose game where women hold all the power. They have too many options. Choice overload causes their standards to become too high and their selections too small. In what world can you know somebody's favorite movie, book, age, height, weight, school, job, etc before you even meet them? I can meet a stranger right now and get along with them. But wait, when I find out they don't like the same music as me we're not going to be cool anymore, right? No. It doesn't work like that and it's silly to screen for things like that. Anyone can come up with a list of arbitrary traits and qualities they seek in a partner. The fact of the matter is that until you actually meet somebody all of that crap on the list is useless. How you vibe with somebody has little to do with such arbitrary standards. And in fact, oddly enough when you actually meet somebody who you like and feel a connection with, what you'll probably find is that you don't like them for the reasons on your stupid list. The reasons you like them are often abstract. Words can't even describe it. It's afeeling.

Work-life culture is in ruin. People spend 20+ years in school only to spend the majority of their waking life for the next 40+ years slaving away. School isn't even about higher education anymore it's about creating workers and teaching skills that are useful to commercial society. Technology and the rise of machinery has only contributed more to the isolation and loneliness that we feel today. Machines now pulsate with life while man has become a robot, model 9T05. Then when it's all over we finally get our 2 week vacation period! Yay! After slaving for 50 weeks I get 2 weeks off! Thanks boss! Our best days, most productive and energetic hours are spent in slavery. There is little time for ourselves. No energy for thought and no place for creativity, relaxation or expression. Every chore is crammed into what time we have left. Society has parted from man.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

That's not even the point I'm making; I couldn't care less if you called me a pussy. If adversity builds character, then I guess sweat shops and child labour aren't that big of a deal, and there's no such thing as physical abuse. There's a massive difference between being yelled at for fuking up and being assaulted.. I can understand drill sergeants smacking troops around since they'll be facing much worse in combat, but a kid playing football? LOL at thinking that was a proper response.

You were punched in the face for missing a pass and took it thinking "I deserved that.. thanks coach". Where is your self-respect? I'd have swung at your stupid fuk of a coach if I were in your position, no matter how hard I got it back.

I really think there's something to that. So many of my peers, me included, lack a real father figure and it hurts them. We have fathers but they didn't raise us as fathers should.

Seriously, there's something really lacking in our generation that I can't put my finger on.. the ability to accept reality over idealism and consequently thrive in it maybe? Whatever it is, it's apparent that people raised in 3rd world countries still have it.

When I traveled previously, I went to a developing country. Had no internet for over a month, electricity for basic stuff, freezing cold shower from a bucket etc. and with all that I can tell you, living there was stress free and easy.

I honestly feel like we were raised by men who never wanted to subject their kids to the chit they had to put up with from their dinosaur fathers, but went way too overboard with the coddling that they achieved a polar opposite result.

That, plus the amount of single mothers raising brat children.

No, you wouldn't. You wouldn't because you weren't raised to know how to respond to pressure. You would cower into a corner. Even if I'm wrong about you, 99% of our generation would.

On the other hand, if you'd grown up with coaches that hit you, you might actually do what you said and punch the coach back. Or maybe you'd work super hard to get through it. Regardless, you would develop a way to overcome and thrive. That's the kind of strength of character that you get from overcoming adversity like the as-shole coach.

Although I agree mostly with what you said, the main factor here, is that back then, you didn't need any sort of education, you could work any job with very little to no competition... then buy a house, start a family and support all of that on a single income- all with no investment in schooling/debt and working a menial job.

Regardless, you would develop a way to overcome and thrive. That's the kind of strength of character that you get from overcoming adversity like the as-shole coach.
No, I would, because it's an adult hitting me in the face for absolutely no reason and I'm not a pussy that doesn't know my own self-worth.

You're trying to argue that abuse is in some way beneficial, when realistically everyone who was abused and understood they were abused (unlike the brah who reveres his abusive coach) would rather have not been abused because it fuks you up.

Boils down to the liberalism of america. Everybody is equal bullchit.

Because everybody is voicing their opinion now it seems chittier than 50 years ago. Blacks and minorities had it fcking terrible 50 years ago but didn't have the access to voice it. Certain classes have it significantly better than before while others have it worse.

Financially the us economy is basically now driven by housing and services and not goods. As a result housing prices are skyrocketing and it's not really apparent how to make ends meet. 50 years ago you could just go grind in a factory and buy a house.

Today you need to be creative to afford a house in any middle class or lower job. Blood, sweat, and hardwork isn't always going to cut it like it used to. That's depressing.

This leads to more women needing to work and empowerment. As a result the pool is subtracted as they focus on careers.

On top of this you add in the boomers are still in the workforce often in higher level positions crying about how the younger generation never worked for anything running around with a day to day bias. They often aren't doing as well either because of the rising prices of tuition and housing.

I think the food thing is a huge part of it. ******* companies like Monsanto fukked up the human race & the corrupt FDA just went along with it. We have so many issues now because our food supply is basically poison compared to what it was a generation ago
