I had a similar experience. My iPhone cracked and they wanted to force me to pah for it even though I had insurance. My phone company and apple both confirmed I had insurance when I called. I went to the apple store and they still tried to charge fully charge me.

I have had 3 iPads. First one stopped working and the second one's screen went blank out of nowhere. Luckily I had insurance or else they would have done nothing even though by their own admission I was given faulty products.

Stopped using iphones back when mine bricked by falling out of my pocket. I Dont really plan on ever going back unless apple maybe comes out with a better selection of phones. The best part about android is you arent limited to 2 phones but instead can choose from many different ones that cater to people in different ways. I currently right now have a s6 active which is awesome because its tough as nails and has a great battery which are 2 things that are important to me personally. For me I dont want a phone that will keep me next to an outlet all day under heavy use or that will shatter when dropped so with android I have options.

I don't care what phone you use, or anyone else. a phone's a phone...get one that works best for you.

But when people post these comparisons...All i can say is so what? I've survived my entire life with wireless charging, and every aspect of my life is set up for wired charging, so I have cables at the ready everywhere I go. Have never needed or really seriously wanted to use VR, and I actually hate curved displays. So none of those "2018" features even seem that appealing for me. On top of that, most of the features that will be included in the newest iPhone, I've never needed or wanted, and got along fine just without.

All I'm saying is that I, and many others that I know, choose iPhone simply because they don't care/want/need any of the extra stuff that a droid is capable of.

1) The iPhone didn't bend, it was just that people were used to smaller phones and weren't used to handling bigger phones so they were abusing their phones treating something with large surface area like its small surface area. Bendgate was a media/hater phenomenon. Was never a legit thing. You lost all credibility right there just bringing that up like it was valid. Exposed your ignorance.

2) Apple has recalled something as little as the power cube because something happened like once or twice. Even more conservative.

3) That laptop is from like 10+ years ago before the unibody era when battery tech/quality was still evolving.

We are talking about this happening today in 2016, on a phone. Laptops have much bigger batteries and commonly expand as a symptom when they die - for all brands, Apple isn't immune to this. But they don't explode, just expand.

In 2016 that rarely happens now. And especially not WITHIN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS.

It takes years for Li-iOn batteries in Laptops to expand. And the life of a battery is limited by advertisement. Not even Apple has alternatives to Lithium Ion technology.

Samsung S7 is something different, just bad engineering. Has nothing to do with the limitation of lithium based battery tech. Its just a bad manufacturing goof lol.

FYI I have an ipod that did the same exact thing. It doesn't explode, it just fizzles and melts the device. It happened in my pocket.Believe it or not, it didn't make the news and I got a free replacement. Could I have sued Apple and put an iron on my leg and called it a day? Sure, but I'm not a pos blaming them for a faulty battery in their device. Mistakes happen, no one got hurt. So good job Samsung for issuing a recall.

No need for a 7 or these chitty Korean phablets with more RAM and specs, but chitty quality/speed/lifecycle. For Android would go OnePlus or wait a few days for the new Nexus/Pixel.
