What does your job description say? As a manager if you have an issue there typically needs to be grounds for termination, but going through HR first would have been what you should have done.

Have to go through the right channels. Aka since you don't have an HR(Weird ass company) then you evidently should have went through the Agency owner.


My advice, when you see him tomorrow use these words exactly, "Just messing with ya pal, agency owner thought it would be funny"..

I never got a formal job description. Just got hired in as a sales person, got promoted and got new cards and a raise. Was under the impression I had full run of the place. Nobody in my location has authority over me, except for the owner, who is never there....

Tell the boss your coworker deserves to be fired, and you need the authority to do it. Your sales team needs to operate per company standards and you need the authority to manage it as necessary.
