Learn coding + computer science (either on own or join college) or join military or get fit and become personal trainer or buy and sell eventually doing so with real estate.

registered nurse. I made over 70 and didnt even work for 2.5 months of the year. plan to be over 100k in 2017. Close to 135k in 2018. And yes it is very possible with travel nursing to hit 135k+. Though it is a 2 year degree... with prereqs it takes more like 3 years.

work up to buying your own equipment for a trade. Welding truck, vactruck, pest control, damage restoration off the top of my head. Depends on location.

I'd just get a job at a big box retailer that pays its managers well. Got a worthless degree? Most of them just require 'a degree' to get into management. Work there a few years, apply yourself, continue education (relevent stuff only, and prolly get reimbursed), and move/transfer stores as promotions are made available. You'd be making six figures as a store manager soon enough.

Caution with this. IT is getting competitive. If you don't have a degree you will have to work harder to move up in the field. But it's not as hard as you think to get in. A 2 year degree from a community college is all you really need and some people are able to get it within a year and a half.


OP - Make a list of all the skills you're good at and how it can relate to the working world. Research professions that utilize said skills and their earning potentials. Once you find that profession, pour all your sweat into it,

By the sounds of it, you dont have a post-secondary education and this is a good way to make money while learning. My brother did hvac + refrigeration school when he was around 31 and he makes decent money now and loves his job.

I had no plan. Was just told I was going to college my whole life and when I got there I just said "film sounds interesting, I'll do that!". Didn't spend a second thinking about how much I might make or what my job prospects would be like, just kinda thought "I'll have a degree so surely I'll be able to support myself, right?!". Looking back I was incredible naive and only blame myself for not putting more thought into it. Not to say you can't support yourself with film, it's just that getting a degree doesn't make you more marketable in the film industry and doesn't really help if you want a career change

My dangerously low savings account from when I actually had a high paying temporary job and the income from my current near min-wage job. Moving in with a buddy in April so at least I won't have to touch savings any more and can at least tread water til I figure out a viable career path

My cousin did a 1 year course for architectural drafting. Now he makes 60k per year and works in a nice building in the city. You could look into that OP.
