night shift nurse. from 7-11 I have things to do the rest of the time I am basically just chilling chatting w/ my coworkers. Not all nursing is like that obviously but on my floor most people are basically finished by 11 except hanging a few antibiotics here and there and maybe giving out some pain meds.

I'm a "wagie" and almost none of the things in OP's picture apply to me. I get up when I want to get up (I don't bother setting an alarm). I go to work when I want to go to work. I don't fight through traffic, I walk to work. I don't "force feed" myself before going to work. I eat when I get to work, on my employer's time. And that food is provided by my employer. A huge variety of snacks and drinks are also provided, not counting the bimonthly catered lunches for the company

If you managed your career correctly and chose the right industry, you get treated pretty damn well by your company. For example, working at a tech company in California, you get treated like gold with some amazing perks

Wait til you get older, and they strategically try to get rid of you. My dad was a company man his whole life. When he got to that old age, they got rid of him.

I dunno. One of my dad's good friends was a phuckin VP at a major company (can probably figure out which one from the State I'm in.). That's pretty senior. He got canned pretty much cuz old. They brought a new CEO on board, and he got rid of a bunch of old people (even very senior execs who had been with the company 20+ years) within like 2 years.

I'll get my work done when it's done. If I miss a deadline, I'll just set a later deadline and keep kicking that deadline-can down the road as long as I need to. What about you?
