guy was legit in the middle of the lake. I am confused on how he made it so far into the lake not realizing it would probably be a bad idea to turn around.

Still a sickening video, but leaves me with lotta questions

Srs question, how would you save a guy who literally can't swim without drowning yourself? I feel like they would panic and ****ing pull you with them.

I'll be honest though I would not save that guy. Dangerous junkie might drown you himself.
That said, the urban youths laughing at his death are just as sick.

That's why an experienced lifeguard should be the only one to attempt a swim out and retrieve. You are taught to swim under the drowning victim and come up behind them so they can't grab ahold of you. Grab them around their chest and bring them in. Otherwise they would inadvertently drown you to save themsselves

Would not expect them to go in and try to save him. Would expect them to call 911 for help instead of filming him dying.

Yea it is scary. Even during training the teacher would do his best to try and basically drown you. You had to learn defensive maneuvers as well to keep yourself alive. It was pretty intense...swallowed alotta water till i was able to get him during training. The girls in my class were the worst at it (no hate) but i couldn't see any of them get a full grown man struggling for their life if they had to but he still passed em.

911 would most definitely not make it in time, id atleast swim up close and tell him to relax and turn on his back to float then pull him after he stops panicking. Those kids are ****ed up, but the guy didn't look any better tbh judging by his tattoos, but then again who knows. If anyone knows NoJumper on youtube, he doesn't look any more approachable than the dude that drowned, but is super down to earth. ****ty situation all around.

This. Was also a lifeguard. You should not try to save a drowning person if you aren't a good swimmer and don't know what you are doing.

You probably shouldn't film them and laugh though. Scumbags.

To be honest, I feel there's something missing in this story. But let's take it at face value, they should have at least called 911, it probably would have done nothing to save him but knowing the thought was there. You're a fool if you expect people let alone teens to swim up to someone in the middle a lake who can't swim. Unless you are extremely strong and trained, you will end up dying as well. Either way, if the video is just a bunch of teens watching someone innocent die with no other context, it's indeed extremely disgusting.

i think we are all focusing on the fact a human drowned while two other humans watched, recorded and laughed. Race and social standing are

Are they? So if they're irrelevant we would see this kind of classless, parasitic, lowlife behavior spread evenly across the spectrum. But we don't. Why is that? Oh maybe because race and social standing are not irrelevant.

You would be surprised how much people dont know how to. Some people have different mindsets thinking it is non-essential. Others just view it as sport and don't think they need to learn how to do it if they have no desire to compete in the sport.

Our would is mostly water....you should fukking know how to do it for christs sake.

a lot of people's problems is they fall in with clothes/shoes and panick - if they kicked off their shoes first thing it makes things way way easier - heavy work boots are damn near a death sentence

Everybody should learn:

- How to identify somebody who is drowning (it's not like they show it in the movies).
- How to safely rescue them if nobody else is around.
- How to perform CPR.

It might save somebody's life some day, maybe even your own child's.

You can't become an expert this way, but you can familiarize yourself with what you should do. If you ever find yourself in this situation, knowing what to do will help keep you from panicking.
