Police arrested a suspected carjacker in Albuquerque who got a bloody beatdown during an apparent attempt to rob three football players fresh from practice.

Angelo Drew Martinez, 20, asked for a ride from the players around the Loma Linda Community Center football field the night of August 11, then pulled a gun on them and tried to carjack them, police said.

At the field, Martinez was “acting sketchy as if he was trying to get in,” said one of the players.

They agreed to give him a ride but said Martinez kept changing his mind about his destination.

At a stop in front of a house in Albuquerque, Martinez allegedly pulled out a gun and ordered them out of the car.

The players complied, but when they reportedly saw Martinez fumble with the gun, one of the players got back in the car and punched him in the face.

The rest of the players joined in the brawl, restraining Martinez until police arrived at the scene.

Authorities said the gun wasn’t real, but Martinez also was carrying a knife and a note reading: “Give me the keys to your wip (car) and a nobody get heart. I know where you live so don’t make me kill.”

In his mugshot taken on the night of his arrest, Martinez’s eyes were swollen shut, covered in black and purple bruises. Much of his face was disfigured with cuts and scrapes.

Martinez has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and attempt to commit a felony, authorities said.

He was released from jail on August 17.

His criminal record includes past charges of auto theft and shoplifting.

Did bone in ribeyes on the grill last night.

600 degree grill. 2 minutes on first side then turn. 2 minutes then flip. 1 minute then turn, leave for additional minute for 6 minutes total. Removed from grill at internal temp of 125 and let rest for 4 minutes.

Perfect medium rare

Whoa....this sounds like great news for anyone thinking about doing another NFA form 4.

There is now a system in place within the BATFE’s NFA DIvision, that will allow nearly everyone who files a Form 4 to transfer controlled items, such as silencers, a genuine chance at receiving approved forms in a few short months. Alongside the ATF, three silencer industry stalwarts spearheaded the best modernization of the registry in 83 years: Dead Air Armament, GEMTECH and Silencer Shop.

The goal is to have wait times down to a fraction of current levels.

This new ZEV AR trigger is definitely different. It has adjustable engagement, overtravel and reset. Supposed to be a single stage but feels like a two stage before making any adjustments. I need to get it dialed in before shooting.

I have the Shockwave Blade at home, but haven't installed it on anything yet. Still need to get the upper for my pistol. But after seeing the SBM4 now, kinda wishing I would have waited and gone that route.
