I agree 100%

On the flip side tho a company is saying "how can we make this cheap as fuack and sell it for huge profit and still get people to buy it".

Basically acknowledge it and move on. No reason to nag over this chit. Just dont buy it lol. Maybe tell ur family and friends not get get duped but if plebs are eating it up, so be it.

For me it comes down to the cost to benefit ratio. You paid so much more than what it was worth because society told you to. That is my issue.

I make over 120k a year with no debt and I would never buy a $1000 iphone. Maybe that's why I have no debt.

I currently have an iPhone 6 that I've had for 3 years. I'm going to try to hang onto it until the pricing drops for this new one. However I don't think I'd feel screwed if I do buy the new one for $1000. At least 75% of my phone usage is for business purposes, and it will pay for itself hundreds of times over in 3 years.

I haven't upgraded in like 3ish years (iPhone 6) and planned on getting the X but fuk that. I'll get a 7 after the X is released for dirt cheap.

I see you take things very literally on the internet.
I also take it you haven't seen much on the display then. Whereas other phones have those sensors on the panel, Apple has done the idiotic thing of expanding the display around it. I will try to find the photo of wonder woman being played on the iphone X, only to have the sensor bar part of the viewing, with the rest of the movie wrapped around to the edges of the display.

Again, trapezoid.

Anyone arguing that 1k for a phone is not a lot of money is an idiot. All Apple products are overpriced and poor morons flock to it. My coworker just paid 4k for a Apple laptop to watch porn and stream Netflix. Blows my mind.

More importantly, why did the dumb motherfeckers at Apple decide to release this instead of the iphone 9 and then release the X next year for the tenth anniversary? Poor marketing strategy.

I agree that Apple computers are a complete ripoff. My last two laptops have been Toshibas that I paid $350 for, and they do the exact same thing as an Apple laptop. iPhones are much better than anything else in its class though.

Let's say that iPhones are miles superior than other phones. What do you use your phone to do? Internet, maps, calls and text? I'm sure you aren't running high end software on your phone that requires the hardware these phones have. It's all waste of money. It has just become a stigma in society to have an old phone. I hate to use this word but I've been basically "shamed" because I had a beat up Samsung 4 for a few years too long. These companies have become fashion companies who are thriving on insecure people.

Everybody overspend nowadays. Save up $1000 And walk into Apple cash in hand and I guarantee you will question the decision. If credit didn't exist, things wouldn't cost so much. As OP said this product costs nothing to make and R&D has been paid for since these phones haven't changed majorly in 5 models lol.

The phone we need is Samsung hardware running iOS.

How completely underwhelming this phone is. The iPhone 8 is the iPhone 7 literally no difference at all, very lazy.

The iPhone X is just as lazy, spruiking all these features that the Samsung phones already have and a pretty ordinary "bezeless" design.

Poor effort by apple, it is like they aren't trying anymore.

I didn't even have a cell phone until four years ago (minus a brief period in 09-10 when I needed on for work). And it was a very basic flip phone. Because all I ever used it for was texting and calls. I couldn't even imagine at the time what more a phone could be used for. And, yeah, I received a lot of grief over that phone. I didn't give a single ****, I was just glad I wasn't one of those phone zombies that stare at a tiny screen from the moment they wake up until they fall asleep. And having to pull it out every five seconds to check on god knows what. It's ****ing rude to be in the middle of a conversation with someone and see them pull out their phone and focus on that while you thought you were actually exchanging ideas with a real, live human being.

OP, how about you let people spend their money however the fck they want? Yes, the phone is ridiculously expensive, but if someone wants it, let them make their purchase without being ridiculed.

I've never owned a mac, have always been a pc guy. But I will say this: Every single windows desktop or laptop I have ever owned has eventually gotten a virus or an update (likely planned obsolescence) that required it to be system restored often and practically rendered useless. How do you defend that?

Every apple product I've owned, and I've owned most outside of a mac desktop/laptop, is still surviving to this day. I have no doubt Apple's operating systems are pretty solid. Also, their resale value is undeniable. Resale value is an excellent indicator of a good product
