Man...My parents would have been like "Nope...Let him out of school for what? So he can either A. Play video games all day or B. Go outside and play in the same heat you're trying to save him from." If I had an off day my dad would take me to his office, and I'd either help there, or have to do homework, no way I was getting off easy.

I literally have only seen that one other time, and that was on 4/20 at the University of Colorado.

In SC we go 100 straight days over 90 degrees, every year.


But yeah 1 inch of snow and we cancel school.

Yeah I know it sounds totally bonkers, I surely thought so, too. Philly has had to close schools a few times as well due to the heat.

1. Extremely old buildings/no AC (and piss poor school budget, go fukk yourself Harrisburg) (Go fukk yourself corrupt admin)

2. Parents who cannot get their act together to send kids to school with water

Got an email from a group asking folks to drop off bottles of water to be delivered to schools for this coming week. Lots of kids here raising themselves, it's a miracle they manage to get to school in the first place, much less with water to keep them cool.

It's sad on many levels.

That's sad...I know Addiction destroys all perception of reality, but fuark there has to be a little piece in there somewhere that remains human. Sympathetic, Empathetic, nurturing, loving. You're 100% Red...I knew of some kids that had addicted parents growing up, they hurt for certain things, but from the outside it wasn't completely obvious. Now the cycle is created...Raise yourself, look for love anywhere you can find it, get caught up in the wrong crowd, dropped out, teen pregnancy...babies raising babies, and the cycle continues.
