I think (like Trump on this issue) in the sense that if they are that ungrateful to the flag and the country the flag represents, they should not be accepting the millions of dollars that this country pays them to play a fuking game. So, I am against them kneeling for the anthem, it is disrespectful and makes them look pretty stupid considering they obviously love the money that comes with their "platform".

I just think what the athletes are protesting is dumb because they're trying to champion for a false narrative. Blacks are not being killed by the police on an epidemic level. There is no systematic effort by police departments around the country to target and kill blacks. Statistics actually show that more white people were killed by police in previous years. I can go on. It's dumb. And honestly, I wouldn't have a problem if the NFL, and any other league, goes down the sh!tter because these rich athletes can't keep their politics out of something like sports.

I can take apart a few reasons a little too easily:

1. Setting a bad example- Oh OK so people protesting to stand up for something they believe in is "setting a bad example".

2. Kaepernick should be grateful NFL chose him to be showered with money- no the reality is he was earning that due to his physical talents, NFL didn't come knock on his door with a million dollar check like ****ing Publishers Clearing House or something.



Those are both arguments that could just as easily be made.

the awareness and discussion kapernick was looking create is now lost in a whole mess of things, things way off the path of what his original message was meant to do. It couldn't be more clear when we see the entire Pittsburgh stealers team stand in the tunnel for the anthem besides one player who stands separate with his hand over his heart. This man has toured 3 times in Iraq/Afghanistan and the fact he feels he should be apologizing to his teammates for how it came across or looked to the world is mindboggling.

That's where this thing has gone. A military man who did 3 tours in the middle east feels the need to apologize to his teammates because he stood for the national anthem lol. gimme a ****in break lol. I get it it team voted supposedly and what not who cares don't even needa get that far into it it's just a mess

Exactly. We arent paying these ppl for their political opinions. We pay them to play the game. They are our escape from politics. This need to politicize EVERYTHING needs to stop!

No it's not. Police brutality is definitely a problem when it occurs. What these protests however are trying to campaign for is the narrative that there is an epidemic level of it occurring against black people. That is not what is happening. More white people were killed by the police last year than black people. But what movements like Black Lives Matter is all about is making people believe that there is a significant amount of police department out there that are treating black people like target practice. BLM was built on the bodies of dead thugs and lies. And these protests against the national anthem are a byproduct of that movement. So **** them. They will be putting their careers on the line when fans start hurting the NFL's pocketbooks.

Listen here buddy, I understand you might not be the best at reading comprehension but I urge you to take your time and digest some of the thoughts written in this thread as they go a lot deeper than your simpleton rebuttals that just restate arguements that've been brought up without providing any intellectual perspective.

To address your second point, sure the NFL didn't come knocking on his door but what gave way to the NFL to be created, to operate and to be so well funded? America.

Doesnt offend me at all...though I find is stupid AF

what I do see, is 100+ millionaires doing the bare minimum. Kneeling.....fukin' kneeling. When Kaper-whatever first did it, it was forgotten quickly. It starts again and will be forgotten just as quickly. These football players are finding the easiest route to take, without disrupting their cushy lives.

Half of them look smug as fuk and the other half seem confused as to why they are kneeling.

Im an average joe without the means to make change but these guys have no excuse. They have the influence and money to do more then just kneel then go home for the night after the game.

As for learning about whats happening via. the news/media, who the hell am I suppose to believe when getting "informed". All sources talked about the steelers sitting in the locker room during the anthem but they were all standing, standing right inside the tunnel. How the fuk can I believe what TV is telling me.

I'm not offended by a vast amount of people using their 1st amendment right to protest a cause they believe in and how they carry it out. So long as the way it's protested doesn't affect others safety or liberty.

Example:

Taking a knee during the anthem is fine. Nobody is affected.

Don't block the damned freeways. Don't corner people with shouts and use mob mentality tactics. Don't vandalize property.


I do wish it was out of sports. I don't want to force it away with set rules, that would impede on the Liberty of the fans/players.

Sports used to be an escape for me but now it's been invaded by politics. And I believe it can be detrimental to specific sports teams with mixed amounts of players kneeling/standing in terms of teamwork and overall performance on the field.


There's no excuse for the **** football playing by the Raiders last Sunday. We got our asses kicked.
