That what I mean, and I like Bernthal a lot. Nothing wrong with that look, but thats not The Punisher. He isn’t big enough in either height or muscle, he has brown eyes, he has wavy/curly hair in a pompadour style, his facial structure (phenotype) is not similar in the slightest.

Ray Stevenson looks the most like The Punisher, he fit the role the most physically. Thomas Jane was in the best Punisher film and brought something to the character that made him the best Punisher from a personality perspective.

I think Thomas Jane was the best portrayal of Punisher, but Jon is pretty close.
Would love to see a Punisher/Ghost Rider crossover now that Marvel owns both.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit softly.

I wasn't really feeling the female cop character, only part about 1st ep I didn't like. Her acting just seemed off to me.

I'm already not a big fan of Netflix's Marvel universe. They take themselves way too seriously to the point where it's just overdramatic and no fun. And the acting is a long way from good enough to carry the overwritten, overdramatic monologues. And I don't want the original Tom the GOAT Punisher Jane movie spoiled for me.

Am I missing out, or should I just pass?

GOAT punisher.


Made a punisher axe last month. Vintage 1940s hickory handle, laser engraved with a movie quote, movie was full of great 1-liners but thought this one fit well. Then applied a punisher stencil to the axe head and electro-etched the skull into the metal.

Makes a refreshing change from the 'never take themselves seriously' MCU films. Srsly, I generally like the MCU but it's as if every character is the same but with different powers. Same sense of humour, quips, etc.

In. The Thomas Jane one is still one of my favorite Marvel movies to date.

I really liked Daredevil and Jessica Jones, but got bored and never finished iron fist, luke cage, or the defenders.

Anyone started watching yet and able to offer some early reviews/thoughts? Prolly gonna binge it tomorrow.

Not every superhero show should be all jokey and PG. It works for things like Spiderman but I think Punisher being dark and serious fits perfectly.

Big budget crowd pleasers can't afford to not be accessible, with TV shows there's less on the line.

Exactly. I'm not even sure what he means by that. The best shows are the one that come closes to their original come character roles. Spiderman has a quirky sense of humor.

Other characters like Batman are dead serious with a dark inner personality. Superman is a schoolboy who believe there's good in everyone. Some kill other are totally against killing.
