Watched the whole thing I thought it was great till the last episode.

Spoiler!
Keeping that ******* alive pissed me off. Punisher not doing that stupid crap is why I like him as a character. Now you have a ticked off special forces operator that knows everything about you and isn't afraid to use leverage to get what he wants. SMART

There was another superhero movie that did this plot twist, where they spare the villain and they obviously come back. Can't remember but it's a plot device.

I was more worried that Madani was going to kill steal, that would've triggered me.

Arrow did it... Common plot point, but one the Punisher usually does a good job avoiding.

I was slightly annoyed but it was probably meant to show Castle's arrogance because he's such an effective killer, that he thinks he has this kind of power over Russo when he doesnt.

Season 5 is where TWD went downhill for me. Everything with the Governor was quality.

When they started ticking more of the SJW boxes, it started getting silly.

I’m not just talking about height and size either, I think that was fine actually. He looks very Jewish and there is nothing wrong with that. I am Sicilian and Jews look pretty similar to us a lot of the time. But that is not what The Punisher is. The facial structure, the features, the olive skin, the brown eyes, wavy hair, narrow shoulders, etc do not fit the role physically. But i can get passed this no problem.

Then we have the fact of how much it stays away from the comics. There was so many times in the show I was thinking The Punisher wouldn’t say that, The Punisher would never do that. As I am a massive comic fan and The Punisher is my favorite character. I also felt like Bernthal was just playing Shane from the walking dead on the show.

The biggest problem I had was the uninteresting and annoying side characters that watered down each episode.

When we look at past Punishers for example Ray Stevenson fit the role the best physically but the movie was too corny and he didn’t have the acting chops or supporting cast to make the movie good.

Thomas Jane got the personality down perfectly. The cold deminor, the strong silent type. The pain and depression that he is going through because of the loss of his family. You can feel his emotions, you as a damaged man. With Bernthals character it’s just an angry man. He places Frank very one deminsional. I’m sorry, I say this as a massive Bernthal fan The was hoping he would pull of the role. Also Jane had a best supporting cast and script which helped as well, and he fit the role enough physically.

Dolly was obviously the worst and his Punisher was a awful movie.
i somewhat agree with this, bernthal acting has been great but strictly physical wise i think he is more of a straight up old school punisher comic book look but not the right modern type.

ray stevenson had the best features yes, i agree with that.

honestly makes me wonder if frank grillo had been the punisher instead of crossbones.

he has the true classic comic modern book look and he can definitely act well to pull it off better overall.

Y'all don't know Billy is "Jigsaw" in the comics a.k.a. The Punisher's arch enemy? Tho in the comics, he wasn't some special ops guy. He does have a messed up face though, and the Netflix series makes The Punisher the reason why.

I found out from watching recap shows on Youtube. Never read the Punisher comics. I'm not into comics in general but some of the movies/shows are good.

This was the best marvel series yet and probably the best rendition of the Punisher we've seen on film. He needs to do more work but its just the beginning and season 1.

1. This is an origins story. There's still time for him to become a one man wrecking ball killing machine.

2. The series gets better as it goes on. It actually starts off really slow.

So you missed the best part of the series because you quit at the beginning.

Watched the whole thing. I found it to be really good and practically a must-watch if you're into action and/or superheroes, the high ratings don't lie. To be fair, I did find the SJW stuff the other miscers already mentioned to be kind of ridiculous and I still can't believe Frank said that transgender line or went on that huge vegan rant, but apart from that the show was excellent.

Agreed

Netflix's offers only mediocre chit, even when they lace the show with 80s nostalgia it's still meh.

Watched the whole thing, but agreed that it was a fairly unexceptional show aside from Bernthal's acting. Not bad, but not great either.

Hell of a lot better than Iron Fist (though everything is) and slightly better than Luke Cage, which was often a bore.

To sum up this show - it was surprisingly better than people expected. Might not be Sopranos/Game of Thrones/The Wire tier drama but the action is great, realistic for the most part, and serves a purpose. It's not just mindless ass kicking.

Basically, don't write it off for being a crap hero action series, there's a level of depth to it. Definitely grit that you dont get in other shows, as well.
