Couple somewhat relevant stories:

Parents were on vacation in Mexico at resort, dad was swimming at pool with bar, swims by bar and casually overhears to Mexican guys in their 40's-50's CASUALLY talking about their plans to kill some guy.

He slowly swam away from them


Aunt, uncle and cousins on vacation in Mexico get pulled over and robbed by a police officer, before letting them go he makes sure to let them know if they tell anybody he'll find them and blow their heads off.

A couple miles down they got pulled over by another officer who wanted to check up on them and know if anything was wrong.
The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.

That's why grandma's apple pie rocks and yours sucks.

Mexico has been off my list for years.

Virtually every person I know that has been there has only told stories of some harrowing experience, attacked by pan handlers or gotten sick from the food or water.

I fail to see what is n Mexico that you can't get in Southern California;

-Nice beaches? Check.
-Authentic mexican food? Check.

I guess the appeal is that everything is dirt cheap but you'll still pay out the ass for passports and plane tickets.
