maybe you're just not good at your job, and she is trying to point that out

I’m 6ft tall, I used to think maybe god gave me feet to hold my body up, but I’ve seen women my height that don’t have giant feet...it was really just a cruel joke

You should have just told her straight up that you don't appreciate or find her help helpful. Then you go to the boss if that doesn't work. I've found every time the boss gets involved things become messy and more blown out of proportion.

Yes it's normal. It's honestly pretty good of your boss to do. It's called being an adult and working something out with someone directly rather than all this passive aggressive crap.

You're 32...are you not able to reconcile with people???

She started out by doing small things like changing my spreadsheets around and reorganizing files on the computer, I ignored for the first few days she was doing this but then her overstepping got too much. At this point, if I left she wouldn’t be able to take over because she never bothered to learn any of the more basic aspects of the job.

It sounds like she's just kind of a control freak who wants her name on things. Is it possible that when you didn't set boundaries the first time, she figured she's helping and should continue?

I'd just tell her straight-up, you don't need to be doing X, I've got it covered. Y is where you're needed.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

Op sounds like she doesn't know boundaries and you don't know how to interact with humans. If you don't get fired this will at least be a mark against you. The only way I think you can save your job at this point. Is to wear that hat in your avi and drink your bosses milk and eat his cookies. Nowhatimsayin

Do what we do: We have a 2-story office building, we have 8-female employees. We put each one in a corner as far as possible from each other. Problem solved.

Why is she playing in your sandbox?

You should have just hashed it out with her to come to a resolution. I don't think having a moment there is likely to go well for you because after you left she had the chance to state her side and look like the grown up.

And your boss seems to be kind of a potato. It should be his job to see that the work process flows smoothly.

If he wanted to hire someone as your equal instead of as your subordinate then the work load should have been clearly divided into two parts so there wouldn't be any friction. Sounds like maybe the only directive she received was something like "pitch in and help" vs. you are responsible for X, and Michelle is responsible for Y which could have prevented this.

Unless that is what happened and she is just stepping in where she shouldn't be at all, in which case tell her to butt out.

There’s more to this dynamic. I’ve been here for a year and a half doing everything in the office to just keep things running. However there are a million new procedures that need to be implemented. However with doing time consuming ****, i never was able to catch up and restructure the company. At some point I got very overwhelmed and my productivity levels dropped. I can’t go back in time to fix that but my boss got angry and started ripping into me. Anyways, because he was angry- he hired this girl, and thought that it would be a good idea to put her on the same level as me. So I’m still doing time consuming menial tasks and she’s spending 4 hours on amazon ordering office supplies. The things that I needed to get to are still in limbo because I’m not in a position to tell her what to do and I’m still stuck doing things that need to be done on a daily basis for the company to run and stay afloat.

Example- before she started working my boss had told me that she was getting my desk and that my pay would be dropped in order to pay her more. That **** never happened, but he created this mess.

Don’t give her the Satisfaction of quitting!! Maybe it’s her plan to troll you into leaving so she can get a friend to take your spot or something. Just keep doing your work and ignore the sloot the best way u can.

What do you do?

You'd be surprised how many adults have zero social skills in the workplace. I work in a STEM profession and most people in the office are on the higher end of the autism spectrum. Not bashing them - they're smart people and generally nice, but hooooooooooooooly chit some people have very strange beliefs about what is their business and what is not.

fart in her face, whenever you walk by her and feel the need to fart. It's nasty but it would be very hard to prove it's deiiberate harrassment. Let her go to know the contents of your bowels. Especially good if she eats at her desk,
