I work in a casual work place. Last few gigs was dress up and they were serious about it, ie sending people home because of shoes. Just LOL at sending people home over a damn pair of shoes, women sometimes.

This is what happens when idiots get into positions of authority. From a logical perspective you are hurting the company by enforcing stupid policies like this because you're losing productivity. Whats better for the company, a guy doing his job in casual shoes or a guy driving home and changing instead of doing his duties? Just LOL at anyone stupid enough to create these policies.

Don't know about you man. But I'd simply be grateful to be employed regardless of what I would have to wear or what my salary is, as long as it's at least 14 an hour I wouldn't complain. Then again I'm unemployed with an engineering degree still looking for anything that pays 14+ an hour for 10 months and living in my car lol.

Lot's of professional jobs require at least business casual and don't pay 6 figures.

Engineers are usually business casual but most don't start anywhere near 6 figures.

Even some lawyers start in the $60k range.

I also went thru a divorce during this time as well so yea, lost my house to her fortunately I have no kids.

Lots of upper management and CEOs don't even wear suits. Just slacks/jeans and a button up shirt tucked in usually.

Civil Engineering Consultant, part owner of a 50 person firm.

At our office its basically "tuck your shirt in" and "don't look like chit".

I wear a jacket or suit with no tie on Wednesdays because of a weekly lunch at a private club.

I wear a suit when going to a County or City Council meeting or when meeting with politicians.

Every other day its jeans.

Older and traditional banks are like that. Stuck in the 80's. Women are usually bad about that kind of stuff. Part of the reason why I hate working with certain types of women. Those kinds of women hates younger, better dressed, and smarter females. Work life is hell on earth with them. Thank heavens my female bosses are older and wears Nike kicks everyday. Only time I dress up are for meetings or when the higher ups are in town.

work swag (5 collared shirts all different colors) and jeans with brown dress shoes everyday crew. Same pair of pants all week, next week different pair of pants. Rinse and repeat.

my company recently changed their policy now *******s with pink/purple hair and gauges can express them selves.
