I’m not vegan, but I am assuming you didn’t go out of your way to get or make tasty vegan dishes. Also did you supplement vitamin B12? A vegan CANT get this from diet.

It's not hard to be vegan. Hit your macros and figure out what's available to eat that you like. There is literally vegan everything at this point... Vegan wings, chicken nuggets, ribs, cookies, cakes, cheese, milk, and an overwhelming majority of them if you experiment a bit taste very good
all that processed **** and sugar is somehow healthier than fresh natural meat? lol jesus christ

Probably one of the easiest most sustainable diets out there, sounds like you didn't know what you were doing OP.

I tried it and energy levels legit dropped so low i wanted to die.

Destroyed a pull pork sandwich and suddenly had the will to live again. Literally it felt like heaven on earth leaving veganism behind. Would gladly exit earth 10 years sooner if it means I keep eating meat.

I've been doing it (partially) for 6 months and its not so bad... it's a high maintenance diet though compared to just eating whatever the **** good quality veggies meats and grains and calling it a day. As a vegan you really gotta manage your diet since a lot of things aren't readibly available in plantbased foods that are present in animal products. I would surmise that the average lifter who doesn't want to pay attention to their dietary intake all the time is actually worse off going vegan than doing a typical bodybuilder diet. at least in the long term.

The liver doesn't need a detox. It is the detoxifying organ. But there are compounds out there that show some promise in reducing liver inflammation (e.g. milk thistle) although there aren't strong controlled human studies on them as far as I know. If your liver was that impaired that it couldn't detox, you'd probably be dead or should have gotten a liver transplant by now.

I don't know how much you drank, but that's often a culprit for elevated transaminases. The other very common culprit in the US is a high-caloric diet leading to obese diabetics with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Amazing how fast you lose LBM isn't it? I've had all kinds of unhealthy stints, eating like chit hardly moving etc, nothing had me lose LBM quicker then a vegan diet for a month. Was stunned because I was counting macros and taking in over 100g protein/day.

Salads, fruits, vegetables.
I'm not vegan, meat makes up like 20% or less of my diet, and usually it's either fish or eggs, with the occasional red meat, basically one serving or less of meat per day.
I feel great on the diet and I'd have to try really hard to get fat, although I don't think I could ever completely give up meat as I don't think that's healthy.
Yup ^ those

Also, You guys need to realize there are different "metebolic types" of people / ethnicity's based on your origin. Some people need more meat than others. Etc etc.

I find it hilarious most people especially vegans think its one diet fits all. Nope. Not even close. Do what works for you and stop spouting how what works for you is the cure all for everyone.

I'm completely convinced 99.9% of people know absolutely nothing about nutrition... It's like religion. They just pick and choose what sounds good or what they like and go with it. Damn all the scientific data and studies related to nutrition.

This. I know America mythologizes Native Americans for “using every part” of the bison they killed, but that doesn’t mean they subsisted purely off bison meat & blood without ever foraging. That’s where the “gather” part of hunter-gatherer comes in. Oh, & the average life-expectancy for a pre-colonial native was about 35 & few lived til’ 50. They respected the tribal “elders” for a reason...they lived that long. Come on, boyo.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20071648
During 5-23 y of follow-up of 347,747 subjects, 11,006 developed CHD or stroke. Intake of saturated fat was not associated with an increased risk of CHD, stroke, or CVD. The pooled relative risk estimates that compared extreme quantiles of saturated fat intake were 1.07 (95% CI: 0.96, 1.19; P = 0.22) for CHD, 0.81 (95% CI: 0.62, 1.05; P = 0.11) for stroke, and 1.00 (95% CI: 0.89, 1.11; P = 0.95) for CVD. Consideration of age, sex, and study quality did not change the results.

I’ll never get it, I only know a few dudes that are vegan, they are in shape but they look pale and sick all the time. I think they don’t eat nearly enough, you probably have to eat a ton of vegan crap to get enough calories.

From my understanding they ate all the organs and bone marrow and what not and gave the meat to the dogs.

I look the exact same as when I was eating meat. I hit the same exact micros and macros. Nothing has went down on me. I didn't lose even a pound going vegan.

No, they're just aware of 60 billion animals every year dying to feed people that is completely unnecessary at this point, environmentally damaging, and help contribute to higher rates of cancer and heart disease.
Hey can you tell us about your protein and carbs sources. It would be really helpful for me if I could see your exact diet and macros. Thanks!

Sure wish i could see the studies included in the meta analysis so I could look at their designs and methods. Why is this meta analysis more valid than the meta analyses showing they are associated? Also note, your link only deals with saturated fat, not dietary cholesterol
