Why the f*ck would being female require the change of Jones to Joan? Jones is his LAST NAME. Joan is a FIRST NAME. Women can have the last name Jones too. Anyone with common sense knows that. Its strange, in this day and age where the landscape of the movie business is growing more and more fertile with opportunities for women and minorities to create original material, that there is still a compulsion to bastardize already established franchises. They might as well give Indiana Jones a vagina to fuk since his ass was used as one with that sh!t pile that was Crystal Skull.

If they call it "Indiana Joan" then I really wouldn't give a fuk. Have it be the protege of Jones or something. That I can live with. If it's a remake than just make it a different character. Gender / race-swapping characters is an indication of both pandering and a complete lack of any new ideas.

This makes me want to punch someone in the face. How about stop ruining good sht, and make some cool NEW female characters, or adapt some stories/comics that already have strong exciting female characters.


Look at how bad Ghostbusters did, and how well Wonder Woman did. Same with ethnic characters. Black Panther broke records, he was new and original, but we don't want to see a black Superman anymore than we want to see a movie about Malcolm X with a white man playing him.

The fact that they feel the need to attache the "Indian Jones" mantle to a vastly altered character tells me that they don't have faith in it doing numbers in theaters on the strength of the film's own merit.

And to go further, if we did want a "black Superman", we have Icon and The Man of Steel (John Henry Irons) waiting on their movies (that atrocity with Shaq in the 90s doesn't count).


Marvel also has lots of cool black characters who haven't been utilized yet. Blade is a cult hit just collecting dust and I'm crossing my fingers that someone gets the idea for a Cardiac movie.

Hollywood is loving this #yasallwimmins chit. They were already out of ideas 10 years ago, now they have an excuse to remake every single movie except casting female as the characters or doing a "pass the torch down" approach, i.e. the old characters daughter or niece stepping into the picture.

Kind of pathetic honestly but I don't really care. It's a rare event to be able to sit through a movie without being bored nowadays. 9/10 are not just old ideas, but the same exact ideas as 100 other movies without even attempting to come up with an interesting new take. Sad state of affairs.
