First thing you need to do is get a hooker and get sucked off man
Life is hard but smashing feels good
Once you do that id suggest you start hitting up blind people to see how they manage.
It’s a serious transition but you can prepare for it

To tell you the truth, I don't know how I would handle it. Recently had my entire life derailed as well and went to the ER for suicidal ideation a few weeks ago. I was in a very dark place. I came to the conclusion that I had to go see a professional and I think you should do the same too when it comes to managing your emotions. Don't go through this alone.

People like you are the most self centered individuals on Earth. Out of all the torment in the world... starving kids with malaria, infants with brain tumors, people with severed spinal cords, ALS, etc etc YOU think god somehow chose YOU above all those other people to "heal"

And then turned around and left everyone else to suffer and die.

It got so bad, the doctor was very distressed, mentioned an eye transplant to my mother and she made this guttural noise of pain. In that moment, I heard (internally), God tell me that everything was going to be ok.

The eye surgeons I was seeing (they literally wrote a medical textbook) - referred me that day to a corneal specialist.

Within the month, I had regained most of sight. I don't need glasses or contacts, and didn't have surgery.

God is indescribably wise and can give you joy. Seek his face.
how about instead of god, you pm him your doctors info? just saying.

I always find it “fishy” for lack of a better term, when the ophthalmologist performing the surgery wears glasses...

Anyways, I’m so sorry OP. Even though I can’t do anything for you, I’ll keep you in my thoughts. I genuinely hope you get better.

I was actually considering lasik very soon as I’m getting tired of putting on contacts.. making me think extra hard now.

Someone told me they prayed for me about a week ago and it came from a genuine place. I'm not religious or anything but being told that actually made me feel a bit better, knowing that I'm in someone's thoughts and that they care and hope for the best for me. It wasn't until I needed it, that I never thought much about being in someone's prayers/thoughts. You might think it's silly and not very helpful and perhaps even meaningless (and so did I), but to those who need to hear it the most, it can be pretty significant.

i had RELEX SMILE laser eye surgery and they only operate if you have enough cornea to remove otherwise it causes what you have. sounds like they cut corners to make a buck off you

The OP asked a question none of you have any experience with or answers for.

I know what it is to have to wear sunglasses indoors because light hurts your eyes. Or not be able to tell that fuzzy blue blob in front of you is a person wearing a blue shirt. And I know what it is to hear a devastating diagnosis. And I know what helped me. OP asked. I told him what worked for me.

Somehow you want to turn this into a debate about your worldview.

No thanks.

That is one crazy story but I have read of others similar. Lasik will work well for most people however for the people it doesn't it totally destroys their lives.

I had mine booked a few years ago and backed out last second based on this. Although the chances are small if it doesnt go well then you are screwed.

All over an elective surgery to avoid glasses/contacts.

I feel for you OP but I wouldnt give up hope yet. At the rate they are moving with stem cells and stuff I wouldnt be surprised if you can get fixed in a few years.

But yes brutal.

In case chit really hits the fan - studies have shown people who get paralyzed and people who win lottery go back to their baseline happiness within a short while. Was a Ted talk by either Daniel Kahneman or Daniel Gilbert (both Harvard professors)

Might be far fetched, but Dave Asprey (http://bulletproofexec.com/) constantly talks about mitochondria, and how everything in the body basically boils down to these things. If they function good everything else will too. Brain, heart and eye are the most mitochondria-dense places, and he says everything from food, environment, exercises and even lightning can effect and optimize mitochondrial function which will in turn make it better functioning. Might be worthwhile to check out.

My aunt was blind and miraculously recovered her sight years later.

Unfortunately, unexplainable things are not proof of a spiritual world... and if there is a spiritual world, it will one day be conquered the same way that the natural world has been. The only reason scientists wake up each day is to discover that yet which is unknown. Most scientists are religious, by the way, but I doubt that that most believe in the supernatural.

Oh, and my aunt went blind again several years later. It started with one eye, then the next.

I pray it doesn't happen to you.

Wow this story is shocking. So sorry you gotta go through that man..

To anyone here mentioning OP's "depression": People get sad when life sucks; it's normal. His thoughts are completely rational.

My experience with lasik was amazing. One of the best things I ever did for myself, but damn...I didn't know it could be this bad.
