Seattle and Vancouver have the same problems.
The latest battle over Seattle’s homelessness policies occurred Tuesday as protesters attempted to stop city workers from clearing an unsanctioned encampment in Seattle’s Ravenna neighborhood.
The cleanup of the camp at Ravenna Woods park was scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday. But more than a dozen protesters arrived ahead of work crews and police, linking arms to block vehicle access to the camp where residents installed a large sign reading, “Do Homeless Lives Matter?”

Similar stuff is happening in Downtown Sacramento. When I started working downtown 4 years ago, you see a few homeless people here and there, but now, there are groups almost every block. It got so bad that officers have to guard our entrances/exits now. Lost count of how many times a homeless person tried to commit suicide in front of our building, threaten an employee, or just won't leave.

Depends on where you go. If you go to the Pier, for example, it's mostly tourists. If you go deeper into city and downtown, yeah, you see a good mix of soyboys and feminists walking back to their apartments where they all live 10-deep in 400 sq feet. But the homeless people are everywhere; doesn't really matter where you go. I remember when I first visited San Francisco in 2004, it was still dirty and had homeless folks, but way cleaner than it is, now. It's out of control.

My mother went to L.A. for some fashion week ****.. ended up on some skid-row wannabe streets and said she had never been more scared for her life.. And this was all within like a few hundred meters of the convention.
My friend booked our hotel in San Francisco for SF Giants game. He didnt tell me it was in the ****in ghetto. It's amazing just how big of a problem it is.

Capitol Mall got removed. Became the Golden 1 Arena. But if you're familiar with J st and K st, those 2 streets alone are pretty bad. Excrement, homeless people sleeping in between buildings, tents all over Cesar Chavez park, etc... I live around South Natomas, which is closer to the American River, and it is bad... When I drive by the river, tents and campsites with tons of litter all around the river.

The coastline is breathtaking. The food & music scene is world class, but you couldn't pay me to live in that city. I love to visit, but only for a day or a night, TOPS. Then i need to GTFO back to my clean, friendly little city in the suburbs.
Also, I moved to LA a few years ago... SF has nothing on LA's homeless situation lol. It boggles my mind how both these cities, with the highest COL, and some of the most beautiful neighborhoods ever, can be surrounded by absolute squalor.

I did drive through a bit of midtown recently, though. Looked like sci fi film.

Agreed . . . complete chithole. I've been going there once a year for business for the last 15 years and it's worse every year. I'm even used to it and I hate going.
My wife is always asking when I'm going to take her there. The image in her mind is like a Rice-A-Roni commercial where everything is pristine street cars and appealing. When are we going? Never. I'd never waste my own money to spend time in that crapfest.

San Francisco is still nice tovisit
Living there and having to traverse through the chitty sections would suck. Union Square is nice but the sh!ttiest part of SF (Tenderloin) is literally right around the corner. Alot of people walk into it while window shopping.
