An entire day dedicated to abs? Why not throw some squats in there or something

No wonder you recover so well. You don't lift.

For nattys yeah. I take at least 24 hours to recover so I can easily have 1-2 off days.

I think optimal for a natty lifter would be

Monday - lift
Tues - Run
Wed - Lift
Thur - Run
Fri- Lift.

Sat / Sun off or optional lift/run

That being said i go way more because the gym is fun and makes me feel good physically and mentally. I do notice though, when i take some time off (i just got back from vacation for instance and didnt lift for 10 days), i look better than i did before leaving. Makes me think im not giving body enough time to recover / grow

the body is adaptive and you can find results that differ from what you expected.
for example a lot of people have been getting pretty good strenght + size results from squatting 3+ times a week heavy. this goes against the contrary belief of overtraining.

i still believe in overtraining is bad for you, but i think you just have to find what works for you and that your body grows from being challenged. everybody part twice a week with high volume, low-moderate intensity is good for intermediate lifters looking for hypertrophy IMO. like go to the gym 5 days a week (do legs only once hehetymen)

Or it could be your daily workouts are weak and monotonous so your body doesnt take much to recover. Meanwhile the people who train with intensity and allow their body to recover and rebuild you think are doing it wrong.

I know people, natty’s, that compete in bodybuilding and powerlifting that are in the gym 6-7 days a week working hard to get to their goal. Don’t tell me it’s counterproductive.

It works for you because you have nothing to train for.

Still blows my mind that 225 is considered strength training.

I had great success with both of those, while my success wasn't as good with 5-6 days in terms of strength. If you are looking to be fit and look good, more days would be more beneficial. Undulating periodization would be a great tool.

It's not black and white like that. That type of thinking is more of a negative than a positive.

I have some 3 day weeks but mainly I just do whatever I feel like in the gym. Whether that means training 10 mins or 60 mins. Or going 6 days or 3.

Doesn't really matter what you do, as long as you're consistent and eat well.

High frequency

low volume

then add volume from there

all rep ranges should be worked

add weight and reps before adding sets

i prefer a variance of iso movements...for that extra 5% muscle gain.

Most definitely bro.

Stay off the supps and get lean too.

There's no need to pump heavy weight and over burden your joints and muscles too often.

3 times a week calisthenics and still jacked crew

225 is a warmup for anyone who actually lifts. OP doesn't "train" for anything much less strength. He looks exactly like he trains : dyel.

My job as a dentist from 8-5 and then since it's Spring, and soon to be Summer, hit the golf course, ride my road bike, go to a Lake Huron beach, or trout stream after work. Used to lift 6 days a week during undergrad, 5-6 during Dental School and now 4 that I'm out in the working world. Toss in a fifth day of cardio for 60-90 minutes and that's plenty of gym time for me.

If you’d like to lift 3 days a week that’s awesome, but the title and thesis of your post is not factually true. Lifting less does not equal more gains.
