That's exactly what I am saying. Have them off to the side, helping out. Obviously the most challenging moves require talent, but everyone can participate...

Not true bro. Most cheer programs split their time between sideline cheer (as you mentioned) and competition cheer. No one sits out for competition cheer so having an unqualified participant could lead to injury. Hell they get injured enough with the girls that are qualified.

Source: Both of my girls have been in competitive cheer for 4 years.

fwiw in the south hs wrestling not as big, and u just need numbers for training. more practice dummies. the bums get put on JV for a few years until they pay their dues. this is kids who never rassled a day in their life.

im sure theres a place for bums in cheerleading just like what you're saying. make them do the JV games, basketball games, what have you. even the chubby ones i say.

Those parents are god damn idiots.

The thought "its just HS cheerleading" sure, it can fly...who cares about it. They just engrained into their daughters head even more, you get what you want if you cry and complain. Those parents suck and it sounds like some pathetic people run that school

After the first couple of competitions of the season they are all called "national competitions" LOL. You are right, all levels don't necessarily do throws like in the "gif" but all levels do pyramids which occasionally come crashing down leading to injuries. Knowing how much it cost to have a kid in cheer, it's understandable to not want kids that didn't cut it to make the team. This just makes them less competitive as a squad. My oldest didn't make the freshman squad a couple of years ago. She was butthurt but she just cheered through a cheer gym and not the school. Cheer gyms pretty much take anyone they just place them according to skill level and age.

Girls are more vicious to each other than we could ever comprehend. She is going to quit of her own volition soon. No way they just accept a charity case, ESPECIALLY something like cheerleading.

Exactly. How the fuk are you going to build someones character by giving them the farm every time they ask for it. Now the kid gets bullied because they can't perform and shoots up a school instead.

You obviously did not read the article; girl in picture/ video legit made the team and is upset that her hard work to do so is made irrelevant by the new policy to include every fukwit that wants to be on the team.
