I haven't seen the original since I was a kid, and I only saw it like two or three times.

The new ones basically ditch this whole idea and just plaster CGI all over the entire movie, just because nowadays we can. Many of the shots in the films are entirely CGI, oversaturated, and the camera/perspective moves completely unnaturally immediately giving it a very fake feel. Very few animatronic dinosaurs. Dinosaurs doing ridiculously OTT things unlike the first where they moved with weight like a real animal would (rewatch the T-Rex breakout scene from the original - masterfully done).
Tl;dr making the whole thing a CGI clusterfuk, rather than subtly adding CGI elements only when strictly necessary and blending them in to the rest of the film.

Srs, I loved Jurassic World. I've watched it about a dozen times on cable now. It was just straight up entertaining and fun.
I thought the first trailer absolutely sucked for JWII. Thankfully, all the trailers since have looked awesome. I'm pretty pumped for it.

Jurassic Park movies are ****ing awful. The first 2 were good, maybe.
I also think it's hilarious how they put all kinds of dinosaurs together that never actually existed at the same time.

went to an advanced screening yesterday evening, my thoughts:
- definately my least favorite film from the JP/JW franchise, but still a decent movie (big fan lol)
Spoiler!
- of all the rebooted franchises in the last years I feel like JW is one of the few that actually tries to create something new with a right to exist besides the OG franchise
Spoiler!
- there were no blatant SJW themes included just for the sake of it imo (compared to the Star Wars reboot where the agenda is obvious from a mile away)
- clearly a lot of CGI was used in the making of the movie, but at least you could follow all the action that was going on
some movies have no content and rely solely on the big CGI-fest and half of the time you don't even know what's going on because of the immense amount of CGI action on the screen
this is not the case in Jurassic World for me, they even used a fair amount of animatronics
- also: Ian Malcolm cameo - hnggg
the stop-motion was made by Willis O'Brien (OG King Kong) who was the mentor of Ray Harryhausen
- definately my least favorite film from the JP/JW franchise, but still a decent movie (big fan lol)
Spoiler!
it missed the Jurassic Park feel a bit since most of the movie was either a militairy operation or took place in that bunker-auction-prison-mansion, this was a bit disappointing to me

Spoiler!
I am unsure how they will travel the road they choose in JW2 though, dinosaurs in the real world... I am sceptical about JW3
