I just annihilated a nest of about 200-300 yellow jackets last weekend. Didn't get stung once, they were pretty docile during the whole thing. First, I tried spay insulation on the hole they were flying in and out of. It worked for about 10 minutes until they got through it. After that, I decided to go full nuclear on them.
They were inside a old wood storage box. I flipped the lid and ran away, let them calm down for about an hour or two then I grabbed the garden hose and just hosed them down for about 15 minutes from 20 or 30 feet away. They were gone the next morning.

Hornets are pretty much high test wasps, they could sense the high test aura flowing from your house and clearly wanted to get in on the action. High test birds of a feather flock together. Low test wasps wouldn't dream of setting up home next to your front door.

I had an encounter last month. Fckers had a small nest under construction right on the eave of my shed door that I did not see when opening. They dive bombed me a few times before I noticed. No fckn clue how I avoided getting stung.

Fuk man, my three year old got his ass handed to him a couple weeks ago.
He had been inside with his sister for a while when I decided to go knock the nest down that was up on our eave. Took it down with a rake and he walked around the corner thinking I was throwing a ball... ran and picked it up. Hornet got him six times on his arm, drew blood and everything. Felt like a bad dad.

The ones that make a nest in the ground suck the most, you have literally no way of detecting it before its too late, and they are furious too if you step on them

Wasps and hornets are the tradies of the insect world, stupid, angry and always looking for a fight.
