Congrats! If it weren't for my gf hating the cold I would have preferred to buy some land in the Dakota's or Montana. It's a shame Californians are despised so much in that part of God's country. You are living the dream, brother. Were you able to secure all the mineral rights as well?

I’m also in the gravel and trucking industry so mineral exploration is a very important hobby of mine. I don’t have just a ton of data to back it up but I can say with a fair amount of certainty there is gravel, zeolite, lithium, uranium, gold, natural gas, and oil. Unfortunately there are tribal regulations in place that prevent extraction of any said minerals besides gravel. It’s a very long and complicated story that is most likely worthy of its own thread.

You srs? I take it i would need a rez tag? I hunted the Rosebud rez for Merriams with my bow near Dallas. Got 2 turkeys and had a blast but at the end of the day 2000.00 for turkey seems a little steep.

I’m about 150 miles from Dallas (and Frank Day’s) and ran cattle north of winner last summer so I have an idea of the country you hunted and I think mine would be a touch more bow friendly than where you were. And yes $2000 is ridiculous, buy a Rez tag for $100 bucks and come shoot something. People that exploit others for profit to hunt a wild animal are scum.

If you don't mind OP, I'd also like to know how much 4k acres costs, around here an acre is about $600k. 200 cows doesn't seem like a lot, why do they need so much land?

Cows eat grass pretty much all day everyday and the last thing you want is to over graze the land. I could probably run more but I tend to play it safe and keep my conservation plan a touch on the conservative side, under no circumstances will I run more than a cow per 20 acres although I probably could rather easily. I’d rather the land be well maintained than running a few more head.

Don't be surprised if i PM you someday. Dead srs. I love to turkey hunt...heck, love to fish too. Makes for a nice break from hunting getting a line wet. Man that's a beautiful piece of land you have too. The area is just so different than the small mountains back here in Pa. with big timber. I just thought any time an outsider hunts on the rez we have to pay for a guide? Our guide was really cool, we asked him to show us some cool historical places and i think he appreciated that knowing we just didn't wanna go kill schit. lol

I saw a ******** ad the other day for a place in the Ozarks where you pay $2500/yr for the right to 'bug out' there when the 'SHTF'. I assume they charge more if you actually want to build anything or mark off your own space. OP should open a miscers-only bug out/prepper sanctuary.
