OP, the reason why everyone thinks your living room looks like a waiting room is because you have those two single chairs on the side of the wall along with that side table in between them

Excuse the poverty phone camera, this is from our old house a couple years ago. Here's a painting my wife and I made by smearing paint all over ourselves and having sex all over a canvas (it's a thing, look it up). It was intensely hot and I highly recommend it.

This is definitely what does it. So awkward having those 2 chairs against the wall facing out like that. All it needs is a selection of 2-3 year old magazines and the look is complete...

But otherwise I think the choice of chairs and in fact the other furniture is pretty boring and sterile. It's like an Ikea display room but with a load of stuff missing. The other posts above are much more like how a home should be.

You just need to add some natural fibers. Plants, tree, maybe a vase stuff with some dried plants.

That white vent is the heater so blowing on blowing action if both were turned on simultaneously but doing that would defeat the purpose of one another.

It's not a print, but it's not actually a Rothko either. I have a friend who's an artist and paid her to create her own take on a Rothko so it's an oil painting.

To everyone who's commenting on the layout and comparing it to a waiting room ect..., I moved in ~2 months ago and most of my furniture has been slowly coming in because the chit takes forever to be delivered. The room isn't done and I'm still waiting on some stuff.

You should cut some holes in the wall to add natural light. And you can look outside. There's actually a name for them but I can't think of it.

Seriously though, I don't think I've ever been in a living room without windows.

Wouldfeelcomfortableopeninguptoopaboutlifeproblems/10 living room

Just moved so nothing really set up yet, but I’m dating an interior designer so my last place looked okay. Half the **** I wouldn’t have thought of myself, I kinda gave her free reign. Looked better than I could have ever done. Srs. The only thing I really had set up before that was a big picture of Paris.

That sofa is really nice. We have a similar one same color and everything. Great for movie nights because you can sprawl out. And it cleans easy. We have a doggo too

Yeah I’m not a fan, it seemed like a good idea at the time but wouldn’t do it again. With the bigger TV in there, light reflects off the sides of the wall and is a bit distracting

Did you make a thread with these pics a while back? I remember people lighting you up about the tv and chair placement because they’re absolutely pissening
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave
