I saw some dude sitting in front of my house in a SUV a few months ago while I was getting ready for work.

He was still there when I was ready to leave, so I walked up and knocked on his window.

Me: "Can I help you?"
Him: "No"
Me: "Well what are you doing in front of my house"
Him: "Joe told me to meet him at this address"
Me: "I don't know Joe, and this is my house. Better move on."
Him: "I'm waiting for Joe"

So I went in and called the cops. They were there within 3 minutes. The guy drove 3 houses down after talking to the cops for a few minutes.

I went out to my car, and the guy came running down the street, and was suddenly friendly and apologetic, "Sorry, bud, I had the address wrong, it was 567, not 576..."


Get some people skills op.

Maybe if you pulled in his driveway or in front of his house he could come and say something but seems like he was just being nosy and wanting to start something.

It's generally a huge pain in the ass process to get the system re-primed and even once you do get fuel flowing again, it runs like hot garbage until all the air is out
The entire fuel system is lubricated by the fuel itself so its pretty harmful trying to operate with air in the system. However, unless you tow it to a shop, you have no other choice

Fuel pump begins to suck in air which can completely destroy the engine. You need to bleed the fuel lines before you start it up

It'll crank. Fuel gauge was broken on our 250 for a while. It's been run out plenty put 10 gallons in and it fires.

I'm a cop in a pretty big city. Ded srs I took a call almost identical to this the other night except it was a flat tire, not out of gas, and both parties were hotheads, not just one idiot like in your story.

Bottom line is that it turned into a fight and one of them may be getting a felony out of it. Over arguing about being in the neighborhood trying to fix a flat. A convicted felon, of a violent offense, for life over that.

Whatever man, I live in a nice neighborhood, and my taxes pay the salaries of the police who keep my town safe. If some autistic asswipe decides to sit in front of my house for 20 or 30 minutes for no reason, I will have the police come and decide if he's scoping out the neighborhood or has some legit reason to be there.

Air in the fuel system can and will destroy a diesel engine over time. I understand if the fuel gauge being broken, but he just wasn't paying attention

People are touchy. Here the police came by to ask about the white van parked in front of our house because "neighbors were concerned". Our in laws were living with us briefly while looking for a place to purchase.

My brother has been in jail on some BS and his truck is parked in my mother's driveway (private property). She has received notice from the city that the vehicle has to be moved or they will tow/impound it and charge a bunch of money to get it back. In Texas. In her driveway. WTH?
