The common theme to is usually during the incident they were blackout drunk and/or on drugs all On ttheir own free will. Yeah I think part of the problem is that we still use one word to cover such a wide spectrum of potential scenarios and levels of willingness and consent.
We use rape to talk about everything from serious stuff to simple stuff.
Rape should be reserved for when youre like walking down an alley way with groceries and 3 masked men kidnap you and hold you down and rape you and then youre screaming and everything.
or if youre with someone even drunk and they're like cmon and youre like no, and then they grab your wrist and get violent and force you down and youre like crying and everything.
So then we should have other terms for the rest of the stuff.
Like youre drunk and you like a guy, but not that much, you haven't decided to yet, but he ends up convincing you that night, you make passionate sex and you act normal. but then later you regret it. the official word should be something else.
With appropriately different punishments like more in tune with common crimes not true rapes and murder type situations.
Same with celebrities, it should be some other word. Like if a groupie goes in and is hanging out with a celeb she wants to hook up with but then doesnt like how she is treated. All of these should not be tried like a serious crime.

Someone probably mentioned it but the bar for "sexual assault" has been lowered. By the current standards I've been sexually assaulted by complete strangers.
But in high school, one of my friends claimed to have been raped at 16, and this was like 8 years before the MeToo movement was a thing. I believed her because she was really pretty, so she prob gets more attention and more creeps looking at her.

Definition of rape has changed to be more loose now.
I remember seeing a commercial saying that you can be raped even though you consented to sexual intercourse. In another commercial, it said you can be raped even if the guy didn't touch you, but made you feel uncomfortable or harassed by simply staring at you.

If it is said not knowing you long is more very likely a manipulation tactic and 100% chance they did not report it. Also note that the definition now also seems to expand it "I had sex and regretted it" for many women. This ridiculous behaviour trivialises and harms actual srs victims.
