I have to laugh at the recent Freddie Mercury thing.

I was around when they were around and almost no one liked that band. They had some popular songs and ones for movies, but they were extremely repetitive.

They never had like deep complex and moving songs.

David Lee Roth:

At the time he was fun to watch.

He appeared to be super narcissistic, but kinda for valid reasons as he was good and I'm sure 99% of females thought him awesome, crazy jumping around karate moves, and he had a sense of humor.

When he got kicked out of the band, it destroyed them.

So, he was pretty impressive.

Steven Tyler:

Great and interesting voice.

Horrible stupid lyrics, so missed potential.

Journey:

Steve Perry, awesome voice with giant huge passion, which I like, but not enough great songs.

Kurt Cobain is an easy pick, I never got into Nirvana but then again I dont know anyone that ranks Cobain among the GOATs much these days anyway.

I'm gonna go with Scott Stapp. Dude tried so hard to make it on his own after Creed but it just showed that he wasnt chit without being carried by Tremonti.

Vince Neil - dude was just in the right place at the right time.

Kurt Cobain - good, but not that good

Zack De La Rocha - RATM generally are overrated af in my eyes, they made one good song (Killing In The Name) and everything else has just been politically based chit

Tom Delonge - might surprise you as I'm Blink 182 crew, but Tom live is fukking terrible. Average at best guitar and voice is all over the place.

I mean, I don't think any of these bands were about projecting images through a front man. Might as well lump David Byrne on that group because he has a so-so voice and never jumped off an amp, amirite?

When RATM came out it was kinda implied that Zack was a black dude.

He's a white dude.

In addition, they falsely promoted they were some kind of political group, but were really just out there to sell records.

They are hard to take.

Some that I can think of that I really dont see the appeal.

Lead singer for Muse
Pat Benetar
Dude from Panic at the Disco
Tobias Sammet(although I love his music)

I want to say David Lee Roth, because I like Sammy better, but he is so unique and the quintessential rockstar

Lead singer of The Smiths
Lead singer of HIM

some of these I am not sure could be considered overrated, but a few I just really don't like

Agreed with Kurt Cobain, Nirvana was fuking horrible compared to the other Seattle bands of that era..
Also I fuking hate Ozzy's voice, he can write great songs and always has great guitarists but his voice is chit.. Anthony Kiedis is similar, horrible voice but amazing music, RHCP have been one of my favorite bands since i was like 12 as well but it's weird that Frusciante was a backup singer when he sang 50x better

He's right though. Queen was a top 40 band not a rock band. No one really liked them when they were active. It was always that **** band no one listened to. Bohemian Rhapsody was an afterthought until Waynes World. They had some Hollywood success because Hollywood loves ****s but mainstream rock didn't give a chit about Freddy Mercury. Their hits were like What does the fox say. Except it was Revenge of the Nerds and Highlander instead of YouTube.
