I’m at 93k so I beat it regardless but I’m also in a city that tilts toward a lower cost of living than most major cities

That's still barely getting by. Maybe what a $290K 3 bed 2 bath house and $37k Honda Accord with leather? 401K match and retire at 65 and dead at 74. I hate to say it but that is realty these days. $90k just ain't cutting it like it used to.

Damn, I read these threads and question if every miscer is a liar or if thats just life outside of my bubble. Just left a job making 40k & scaled up to 65k. I'm pretty much directly in line with the median for my age. CT cost of living sucks though, 65k will allow me to save... yet still feel poverty.

I'm 25 and make approx. 50K. For a single 25 year old I'd say I'm doing pretty well, but I'm not saving as much as I'd like right now. Also gotta get my chit together for retirement.
