Yeah, as stated by my previous reply, my buddy knows the girl who died in the head-on collision. Didn't hear about the dude who got run over, though. That sounds horrific.

Because it is in the Gulf. Very rarely do we get blue/clear water. We just have the sh!t end of the stick when it comes to beaches. It is all we got that is close to home.

I believe it was the passenger that died. Of course the friend/drunk girl driving lived.

CLearwater, Sunset beach, etc. in Fl. all have nice beaches. Wonder why its so different?

I just got flashbacks of getting absolutely blasted on $6 worth of the yellow Mad Dog in the big ass bottle back in college and making very questionable decisions. If you can survive a Mad Dog hangover your one tough son of bitch.

Does anyone remember when they came out with the Mad Dog that was blue and had "bling bling" on the bottle? Truly the most foul of all the bum wines

And the San Jacinto, Trinity, and San Bernard rivers, not to mention 1001 small bayous. Half the state of Texas drains into Galveston Bay. Plus the slope of the beach is so gentle, it takes very little wind to stir it up. With a light SE breeze, we can have nice green water, but it takes a perfect storm of tides, winds, and currents for us to get blue water.

The event was actually in Crystal Beach, not Galveston. Galveston beaches are dry, and Crystal Beach used to have billboards up in Galveston advertising that you could DRINK ON THE BEACH in Crystal Beach. I guess you reap what you sow.
