The US government is spending like it has a black Amex card for the past few decades but eventually there will be a rude awakening. As much as I hate the military industrial complex it is the only thing protecting us when the house of cards eventually falls down.

It changed earlier than that, eod8989. MUCH earlier. The vast majority of (current) bodybuilders don't even REMEMBER when it really changed, so it's hard to "identify with" how things could be at full potential. Those good times, I'm thinking basically of late 1970s, folks. Before the 1980s were done, we had things like some guy on I think ABC Television running a program called "Greed Is Good" and the show got big-time ratings. Eek...really, I'm SO not that.

Things are cruel right now, almost unspeakably so. I don't need to elaborate. Read into it what you may, because it's "equal-opportunity cruelty" for people of all political persuasions, y'know.

And OP MikeLowrrrey, we are probably NOT on the same political page, but when BOTH YOU AND I THINK THAT "AMERICA IS IN TROUBLE" from different ends of the political spectrum, man, then we both KNOW there's trouble a-brewin'...bigly. I'm not convinced that the United States will still be a nation by 2040. No, I'm not talking about immigration, climate change, that kinda' stuff - no, it's more basic than that.

What's our choice?

Work to change the things that we can change. It may be one person at a time. Even that counts.

Still pursue the kind of life that you want to live. If you have bodybuilding goals, keep the goals intact...there's nothing that says that needs to change for any reason. You may be trying hard to save for a house somewhere close to work...if your work and your health and such haven't changed, no reason to abandon your goals. Do what makes you happy. What could be more important than that?
