Nah, dunno about UK but in Oz the most ridiculous rule was, and will remain, having to tuck your fukn shirt in. Sit down? Tuck your shirt in when you get up. Reach above your own head? Gotta tuck your shirt in. Play any kind of sport or do anything not standing with your hands by your sides? Tuck your shirt in.

Seriously, you ended up spending a genuinely large portion of your time in any given day tucking your fkn shirt in, I hated that chit like fkn fire.

Skirt length rule was lulzy. Remember girls being made to kneel down and having it measured from the floor

6" rule for opposite sex. Done to stop couples being all over each other all the time.

Best rule ever was that girls were banned from wearing trousers. Our head teacher was pretty alpha.

Generally regardless we just left most Shirt Buttons un-fastened with a Football (Soccer) or T-Shirt under it

HOLY ****, I am actually so triggered just reading this. I remember I got detention for being late and all you were allowed to do was read. I was in 6th form which is one year below university, studying for my A levels and they wouldn't let me study from a textbook. Had to go to the library and pick out a reading book for myself.

Also had to stand up every time a teacher entered a classroom and would not be allowed to sit until they gave permission. Only in lower school though. Detention for forgetting a sock for physical education. Detention for not having enough stripes on your tie, rule was 5 and you'd get detention for 4. Random ****ing bull**** that they actually though improved the school.
