I never made any claims it was rewritten or was a book of war.

It's a book full of bullchit and needs to be laughed at. It is literature, pure and simple. Nothing in "god's book" provided any scientific discovery, or even anything worthwhile to humanity.

I've noticed that deeply religious Christians tend to not be interested in (or even have disdain for) higher criticism- the research into how the books of the Bible actually came to be and their historical contexts. Presumably because of some of the rather embarrassing results that have turned up in this field. So like you are saying, there is so much investment in it, may as well just ignore historical criticism and only stick to intra-Bible passages for "truth".

Lol at the guy saying the Bible hasn't been rewritten- literally tons of evidence for interpolation and an evolution of the biblical text in the various manuscripts. Heck, translations today don't even agree on many things that should/should not be in the Bible and are clearly different.

We know there are countless blatant contractions in the Bible, and significantly, the Bible is ignorant of basic science (flowering plants are said to precede the sun and moon in Genesis), they thought above the "vault" there were strange waters (the sky being blue means they thought water was above the sky), God "stops" the sun in Joshua because they were ignorant of heliocentricism, etc etc. could go on and on...it's almost as if these ancient texts were written by primitive people, and contain exactly what you would expect for a text written by primitive people.

I was an atheist for many years, and by the time I was 16-18 years old, I had read the entire Bible, was reading the Quran, had looked into Buddhism, and was reading crap from authors like Freke and Gandy about the Dying Ressurecting Godman.

i.e. there were SEVERAL copies of Exodus found. And SOME of those had some variations in content and language. But the other copies of Exodus did not and were exactly the same as what we have today.

So, the Masoretes people who preserved these texts had many copies of it.. and some of the copies were perfectly translated, and other copies had some differences in a couple of books.


AKA, human error on some copies, bible still preserved in tact with other copies, no issue.

Sigh, I'm talking to someone clearly ignorant of higher criticism and is oblivious to the history behind his own scriptural text, so it's useless. You claimed the Bible was UNCHANGED. This is clearly a false statement. Literally no one connected to the field thinks there are no differences between the Dead Sea Scrolls and current texts, lol. How dishonest can you be? Besides there being numerous differences, the Dead Sea Scrolls don't even always agree with themselves, smh. Notwithstanding also including all kinds of strange non-canonical texts....clearly the Bible is a text that merely evolved until it reached canonization, and that point, interpolations etc still were known to happen.

The above quote was very spot on. You are living in la-la land, and frankly are offering an extremely dishonest, biased argument to defend a primitive text that states angiosperms preceded the actual sun. Pathetic.

i.e. there were SEVERAL copies of Exodus found. And SOME of those had some variations in content and language. But the other copies of Exodus did not and were exactly the same as what we have today.

So, the Masoretes people who preserved these texts had many copies of it.. and some of the copies were perfectly translated, and other copies had some differences in a couple of books.


AKA, human error on some copies, bible still preserved in tact with other copies, no issue.
