Well it's 29 degrees in my garage tonight, and I couldn't get warm for the life of me and everything felt like dogchit. Plus I'm weak.

Bottom line is I only did 3 reps. I don't even want mine up in the OP because it's embarrassing. But I am going to send the vid to novacaine so no one can say I didn't try.

I'm going to try again in a few weeks and do something decent, I guarantee it.

Chit happens, homie. I might try this 405 touch n go style next week, but I haven't deadlifted in years and barely knocked out 5 reps with 475 in a chitty semi-SLDL last night. That's a weight I could have done for 20 (touch and go obviously) a decade ago.

Getting old is fun.

Since I'm close to a hip replacement, is sumo allowed? Lol

At least you have the guts to call yourself out. So many people here only post things that show them in the most positive light. They will take 100 pics only to find the one pic that makes them look better.

But those of us that are in this for the long haul know that life is just not that way. Being willing to embrace and own your low points is what makes us all stronger in the end.

I have not deadlifted in almost 2 years, but this thread is almost wanting me to 'put myself in check' too.
Tomorrow is leg day, and I may just for the hell of it throw in a set of deads. I am not sure if my back will cooperate, but if it does, I will post up my results even if they suck. Just use it as motivation man!

Props

Phuck training in 29*, it was 55* out when I made my video, if it had been any 40* or under I would have called that session off and gone to the gym by my work the next day, lol.

P.S. in the vid it looked like you just ran out of gas, not strength, the weight moved well on all 3 reps. Probably has something to do the fact you're on a massive fkn deficit right now... You said what, 90# down in 5 months?

Yeah. I have a million excuses. I also have had an upper respiratory infection that I just got over that put me out of work and the gym for several days last week.

But I still thought I would be able to hit 10+.

It was pretty dumb actually.

315 is cute.

The worst thing is, I'm sure they could get nearer to 400 by wearing a belt, using chalk and wrist straps.

Just LMAO at thinking you are a bad ass.

There are plenty of stronger lifters out there who do not bother training for strength just as an FYI... and it's because it's absolutely cringey AF and translates to nothing but bro fists with other bearded dudes/ females that smell like fried chicken.

Dude I had some chest crud a few weeks ago and still go into a coughing fit on occasion since then. It's gotten a million times better but still sucks when it does happen.

I'll try this at some point soon. Just deadlifted for the first time in about a year and hit 315x20. Need to let my squat and deadlift get a little smoother and stronger before I go ham on 405.

trying to get to 405x20 by February so we'll see what happens.

I'd participate if it was 495 for AMRAP but I don't feel like doing 20+ reps of deadlifts at 405
500lb Squat
375lb Bench
675lb Deadlift

Weight?

And yeah I know you can hit a lot more than 4 reps, but assuming you are sticking with your programming, gjdm.

It might be fun to have 225, 315, 405, rep challenges for all three lifts. It might breathe a little bit of life into the Misc and give some people some extra motivation to lift.

The misc has some unusual hate for deadlifts or any type of strength training. I always see "why do that when this gives whatever results". Its always someone thats into aesthetics. 9 times outta 10 from the looks of their avi they'd benefit from strength training.
