The whole "identifying as a Skywalker" thing is one of the parts of the movie that never should have made it to screen. Just cut the film off after the last battle between Rey and Palpatine. That was perfect closure for the whole thing right there.

Didn't know piloting ability was genetic. I guess that explains why both Luke and Anakin are great pilots

It's almost unbelievable how badly they messed it up, and these guys make millions of dollars.

Not what I meant. She had a connection with Han, she's a great pilot, the love for the Falcon, for movie purposes it would have made a lot of sense for her to be Han's daughter.

i mean i agree it was a big mess TLJ....but i felt like it was so cheap to just go back to Darth Sidious. and then to make Rey his granddaughter. lol.

i think she might have identified as a skywalker at that point because she loved Ben and he saved her so in her eyes she married him or whatever. lol.

It's extremely weak. Like another poster mentioned, the Emperor is in the story for only the end of the movie. I forget who said it, but a poster said this should have been split into two movies. I honestly think TLJ destroyed the series so much that no movie could have saved the trilogy.

Lets be honest the reason this trilogy failed is because disney rushed it without a road map.

If they thought out how this trilogy would go from start to end then they wouldnt have to fix so many issues and have so many glaring plotholes.

All Disney was concerned about was selling merchandise so they rushed everything to market including these awful movies

I couldn't agree more. I think I mentioned that earlier. Blatantly obvious they wrote/made one movie at a time with no thought to the next one coming up.

The new series only had 2 years between releases, with Rogue One and Solo being between each one....... The original 3 and prequels had 3 years. Disney rushed the F out of these.

i also cant stand that people are letting JJ off the hook and blaming Rian Johnson.

I agree 100% that TLJ was trash and Rian Johnson did a terrible job BUT this movie was even worse in EVERY respect. TLJ is a movie that actually makes sense in its own sphere. Meaning, if you ignore what you know about star wars lore then TLJ is a decent movie on its own. RoS is not even that, its just plain garbage

Yea i get TLJ threw the direction of the trilogy totally off the path JJ might have envisioned but im sorry, a half way decent writer could have took what TLJ gave them and still wrote a respectable follow up. What JJ did was throw all the rules of basic storytelling out the window and mashed together a bunch of nonsensical nonsense that probably has George Lucas contemplating buying the damn franchise back just so he can retcon this atrocity.

So Rey goes back to Ach-To and burns her ship to trap herself there. She then throws the lightsaber into the fire where..........Lukes force ghost CATCHES IT.

My god, so force ghosts can apparently interact with objects. But wait it gets worse......

Lukes ghost then uses the force to lift an xwing out of the water.....so not only does this conveniently allow Rey to get back off the islan she just got to, it also establishes that force ghosts can also use the fuking force as well as use fuking lightsabers.



WHY DIDNT THE GHOSTS OFLUKE, YODA, OBI WAN, ANAKIN, AND WHOEVER THE FUK ELSE JUST GO KILL PALPATINE?????

Yes. So, remember how Anakin became Vader and started this whole saga to begin with solely because he thought Palpatine could teach him this incredibly unfathomable dark side power that was so powerful that only Darth Plageius was ever capable of MAYBE achieiving?

Oh, both Rey and Kylo can do it no problem whatsoever.

there is absolutely nothing stating that all these force ghosts couldnt just get lightsabers and kill Palpatine. In fact, they would be invincible since they are already fuking dead.

that was somewhat acceptable because theres still so much mystery behind baby yoda that they might still offer a good reason. But it was also just a flesh wound. Kylo literally brings Rey back from the dead in a manner that Anakin could have done to Padme and avoided this whole damn saga.

lol yeah. it's like they turned the force into magic + super insane super hero powers. it cheapens the whole concept. It wasn't magic....it was the FORCE. two completely different things but in this movie they became one in the same.
