I never thought of it as an old lady karen car. I'm not personally a huge fan of it but it does sound nice.

It seems obvious. When it comes to Z cars there is only two great choices: the 240 and the 350. Everything else isn't as good. When it comes to the 370 it's been around a lot longer than the 350 with a notably longer run and it's sort of a great mid-range sports car so a lot of people who want something like that got one.

I think too often some muscle car guys get some confused notion to compare big V8 2+2 to these little Japanese sports cars and it's just dumb. I say this as someone whose first car was a Trans Am WS6 who also drive a number of mustangs and there is just no comparison. I love the engines in those cars but there is just no comparing the feel and driving pleasure that you get from a real sports car in comparison.
I think one of my favorite sports cars is a perfect example of this. I got a 350Z and a NA Miata and the Miata is probably the best driving experience that you can have. The Z is a far more substantial feeling car and far better for taking on the highway but the Miata is such a pure and light weight driving experience, it offers fun in a way that big heavy power cars just can't compete.

The lap time difference between a modern performance pack GT(2.53.8) and a 370z nismo(3.12) is so vast it's like comparing my car to a McLaren 720 (2.39.7)

The Fairlady In the past was a 2+2 seater and ugly af
I do t think the 2 seaters were historically referred to as fair ladies in adm or jdm markets
The mistake was selling it in automatic
The gtr (the real ones- R32-34) never came out with slushboxes
Also the 300zx twin turbo was a beast if you had a fully equipped garage to maintain it

I guess they wouldnt be so bad if they didn't cost so much. Brand new they are overpriced for what you get and there are so many better options. Don't even get me started in the nismo 370. You REALLY have to be a fan of it to buy it.

Sloots like round cars. VW Beetle, mini coopers, audi TTs, miatas. Even on the higher end I'll see wealthy asian sloots in R8s and panameras. They just like round cars and SUVs.
Also just lol at anyone talking sht about the Z, they're good cars. They may be overpriced but they're still one of the JDM legends and it's nice to see that they're still going semi-strong. There isn't a lot of Japanese sports cars from the legendary era that are still being made but at least Nissan stays dedicated to their sports cars. Especially since as far as I'm aware they aren't really doing too well financially.
