They won't do this because most people won't spend it which is the whole point. You got people hoarding toilet paper, you think they're spending this grand you gave them? Just lmao.

this 1k thing is a joke for people who really need it
That is supposed to be enough to supplement rent and bills for someone for a month? that means they expect someone who makes 12k a year to be able to support themselves.
Most places charge 1k a month in rent alone baseline, throw in water, electricity, car payment, food. The basic necessities to live / not get things repossessed.
I would much rather see bills passed that Property owners can not charge rent during this time and auto loan accounts/utility accounts will be placed on a freeze.
A lot of you *******s should feel blessed you would get to spend it on anything other than necessities. I have a lot of hard working, intelligent friends who are about to be fked because even non necessary medical offices, all businesses period, non government workers or supermarket workers or large corporation workers, are being told this week expect this week or next week to be the last week they will see on a paycheck until this is over.
And for those of you ROFLing while you work from home for a business, i hope you are also prepared when management gets done having meetings this week talking about also cutting 100s of positions off payroll. You think they arent seeing losses right now and going to cut non essential working personnel to save some losses?
