The same would likely work here, but we also have the powder keg example of New York that is unlike any other place in the U.S., and that is the plastered example of why we're crumbling.

To be fair though in January we had no idea that this would blow up to how it is now. I don't think anybody really knew aside from people who had insider knowledge and are experts. But most experts didn't even know and some called it just a flu so the government followed suit. Whether they followed the recommendations and if they are WHO shills is a different story.

Canada restricted travel much later than the US and it's only recently that we started ramping up testing. The response from the federal government honestly was pretty terrible and it could have been so much worse than it is right now.

But I think governments were just shutting things down out of panic without any sort of end game or plan or outlook long-term. Perhaps to avoid criticism from the general public. And it seems like to me nobody was really consulted on the economic impacts of this and how this could also affect human lives. They just consulted medical experts who are of course going to say shut the chit down from a purely medical standpoint which is why you need perspective from various different experts, weigh the pros and cons, think of a way to cause the least amount of damage while prioritizing health, etc. Where somebody from a different field may be like hey wait a second, if we decide to do this, this may happen and as a result of this, people may also be harmed and killed as a result of these options

Link? (j/k there is no link for that because NYC hasn't been legitimately tested for antibodies in a useful way)

Would be least 0.5% and climbing, considering 0.1% of the total NY population has died to the disease so if only 1/5 of them have had it...at least 0.5% + people who currently have it but haven't diedyet+ the unknown number of undocumented cases
