They'll try to deadlift each other and will groan and sweat for 10 minutes. Then one of them collapses on top of the other, so it will be a stalemate.

Go and watch what happened to 5x WSM champ Pudzianowski in his first fight. He turned purple after a minute and he was fitter than both of them. The only way this will be even remotely worth watching is if they have shorter rounds and weigh close to what they did before they started strongman. I'd say around 120kg for the walking chode and around 170kg for The Mountain.

I'm surprised so many of Hall's fans are rating his chances so highly considering how sub par the man was outside static strength events which is why he only won one big title and that was by a single point (see his latest instagram video where he boasts that he "dominated" WSM 2017. Dominated. By one point.). He needed squats and deadlifts that year to win. Bjornsson at least moves well for his size.



Here's Hall going up against Big Z in an event where he has to move. There's a reason why he retired. When events are lighter he's a non factor.

Not every boxer started out as a kid on the amateur scene. Some had to develop these skills late on. AJ started at 18 and Wilder was 20.

I'm not saying that he could trouble them or other top guys, but I'd enjoy seeing what he could do at mid-level with that power.

What power though? we have no idea how hard eddie hits. I doubt he has wilder/tyson power.

Also even though 18 and 20 is old, they have 10 years of boxing experience by the time they're 30. which is the age the current pros are dominating in.
Eddie is 32 right now, by the time he has those years of experience , he'd be way over 40.

Boxing is cardio and strongmen don't do cardio.

They'll both get winded after the first round... maybe 30 seconds.

and you would be correct, they have him at 2,02 meters tall (6,7 ft)

A lot of power from punching comes from technique, using your hips, rotation, punching through the opponent, snap, speed etc.
And they say real punchers are born. spending your life deadlifting insane amount of weights will do nothing for your punching power.

Non lifting boxer > bodybuilder/strongman who lifts heavy when it comes to punching power.

Hall is not 6'3".



If Thor learns how to throw a decent jab before this slopfest takes place then his height and reach should keep the chode from doing any damage in that first minute before they gas.

Wilder is a one trick pony who wouldn't have a career if he wasn't tall. In this case I think it bails Thor out of having to do much to collect his 7 figure sum.

These old wives tales are stale, the bit about punching anyways. Not the kinetic energy transfer, but the being born with it crap.

Punching power is directly related with your lats, it is why most powerful boxers/fighters have epic wings. Kinetic energy is transferred from feet, through core and through your lats down your arm. The extension and twist of your arm is enhanced greatly by your lats, which is better kinetic energy transfer and more power.

If hard punching could be learned, then why is there hardly ever anyone like Mike Tyson who could knock people out with both hands?
Even Wilder dominated boxing with mediocre boxing skills, but simply with the power of his right hand.

It's not like you can just train and become that strong of a puncher or everyone would've done it.

The strongmen usually do quite well in MMA. Have watched some of Pudzianowski and Thompson's fights and they looked decent.

Pudzianowski was a "small" strongman.
Eddie is around 80 lbs heavier and Hafthor around 135lbs.
