tell them how inflated the coronavirus death count is in the USA because they literally count every death caused by sickness as a coronavirus death. America seems to have cured the flu because all flu deaths are now recorded as covid-19

Still have a huge amount of family in Germany. Also lived in Germany for 5+ years, visited since I was a child & still have citizenship to this day.

It's mostly a fairly left wing state with the media portraying the US as some mystical, somewhat reckless and crazy culture. **** is blown way out of proportion, a lot of my friends would ask me if "it's really that extreme?" Doesn't matter if you're right or left wing in the US, it's not that brutal as German media paints it.

Media there cares more about US politics/trump than it does about their own country politics which in and of itself is a confusing ****show between parties like the SPD, FDP, CSU, etc.

I went there fairly recently for a 2 week business trip and nothing changed.

Most people are pretty cool and hospital though. Good times to go out and drink with. Be careful though because Germans hate small talk so even the hottest chick at the bar will want to talk US politics with you - this can be difficult when you're 6 drinks deep and don't give a **** about the US involvement in Thailand in 2012 or whatever the ****.

I don't mind diversity, but Texas is only about 40% white now(though probably under that if you include illegals.) Pretty soon we will be like 25% white and pretty much everyone will speak Spanish. Why not SLOW immigration down so that they can assimilate better?

Although diversity is known to decrease social cohesiveness and trust, there really isn’t any other inherent disadvantage, however, I always feel a disappointment/sadness when a culture and legacy are destroyed or lost. It’s like a piece of history that is wasting away to ashes.
