Yeah plain sake is groce, it taste a bit better if is heated up, but the sakura sake we had a couple times before was a whole world of difference from regular one, also lychee sake is really good.

The times we had it was in orlando in a super hidden japanese restaurant in the second floor of a building and at another place in the middle of Miami. I haven't found it near me. But the sakura one you can order online. Maybe check your local asian grocer?

Lol. Got two bottles of it for me and the wife. We were working the screwdrivers with peach vodka a couple weeks ago. Like I said, just trying to break from beer. We're really not big drinkers.

Been toying with the idea of straight liquors. Bourbon as you said or maybe some scotch.

Whiskey/bourbon/scotch are great for sipping neat or over ice. Usually I'll have the first glass of a bottle neat so I can really taste it. Then I do rocks or a cocktail just to smooth it out a bit.

Definitely do a whiskey for straight liquor though. IMO much better than vodga/gin/tequila. Unless maybe an aged anejo tequila, those can be pretty smooth.
