I’m an orthopedic surgeon, Almost all PI lawyers are the worst and chiropractors are in on the scam, so are the spine doctors contracted with lawyers. If a lawyer wants to send you to some chiropractor, you can be sure as hell they are running a scam together. You’d be surprised how many of these lawyers have contacted our practice to send patients. The jig is to send you patients for so you max out the tab and then kick some back to the lawyer. Lawyer gets his 33 percent and his kickback. Chiropractor gets most of the rest. By the time it comes to you, there’s almost nothing left. The whole thing makes me sick. Provides nothing for the patient. Nothing. This is an elaborate scheme to milk easy cash out and we all pay.

I don’t even understand wtf a chiropractor supposed to do, even if you have an injury and need an MRI and PT or surgery, you need an orthopedic spine surgeon. It’s a fukking crime that car insurancd would even pay chiropractors. They provide no service. Just milk the cash. One thing you should know is that you can bill whatever you want for medical services to insurance company and they will pay until you hit your maximum coverage. So you can see how easy it is to run this scam. I know spine surgeon that do nothing but this kind of work, have lawyers who send them patients, they bill $50k for surgeries that ordinarily won’t even pay $5k. The system is fukked up.

Now that I have blown the lid with my rant, If you are intent on getting a settlement, try it yourself, or hire a reputable lawyer who is not out there running scams (very hard to find one in PI). Better yet, say your blessings that you’re alive and well, walking and you just have some bruises and it’ll be ok. Accept the reimbursement for the car and lost wages and move on.

Find the best lawyer you can on Avvo, get a nice fat check.

You might get more money with the insurance company's offer and not pursue litigation..

Know the insurance company has billions of dollars and can hire better and more lawyers than you if it goes to trial.

Also if you use your health insurance to cover costs from this accident, you can not collect again from the insurance company.

If you feel confident your injuries will not go anywhere, I would counter the insurance company and accept 5k+.

Am I interpreting correctly the attorneys guaranteeing you 33% while taking 25%, meaning a doc or other health party will receive up to 40%? Sounds like a waste of time, unless you earn another 20k or so. Maybe delegating the stress of the process counts for 10-15k for you, in which case you might as well.

No the med bills are to be capped at 33% but all the attorneys told me it would be way less probably closer to 10-15% most likely
