caught another 50" muskie this evening, crazy
back to back nights. unreal!!! I've spent over a decade chasing these fish and my previous best was 49" with lots of fish from 44-46. pretty cool to finally put some 50s in the boat. the lake is hot right now. seeing a lot of big fish that aren't taking the lure. this one went 52.5"

this has been my go to "big fish" lure the past few years. twin 10 spinner... caught a lot of big fish on it and even a few bass lmao. I reel as hard as I possibly can with my rod tip in the water to keep the blades from coming to the surface... makes a crazy wake

Bit of advice. Turn the boat so you're facing into the sun for your fish pics.

Just recently got back into fishing a few months ago, maybe lockdown put it into my head again. Caught a decent size Pollack on Monday night at the beach. Love night fishing personally, proper solitude.

Went out on the yak this morning. Friend showed up late so it was so fuking hot out by the time we got on the water. Caught a small flounder and the world's smallest catfish. Nothing was keeper size. But the water was calm and I did a little exploring which was cool.

I finally got offshore in OC, MD with my brother this summer. We took a 3 day fishing vacation. On day 1, we raised 4 billfish, hooked one, and my nephew released his first white. We caught enough mahi under the poly balls in the Washington Canyon for a tasty dinner. On day 2, we were 1 for 2 on a doubleheader of whites and again caught small fish taco feast worth of mahi.
Day 3's catch is in the pic. We bailed 30 mahi and a couple triggerfish from under a log offshore of the 800 square (we actually probably caught around 50 but started throwing them back after a while), and then had a double header on bigeye during the 2:00 afternoon bite. The first nearly stripped a 30 in less than a minute before spitting the hook. We battled the second for nearly 7 hours on a 50 until boating it at 9:00. Weighed in at 192 lbs. We weren't entered in the WMO, but the winning tuna entered across the board (second overall) was 114 lbs and was worth $1.3m. Ugh.
It was a good weekend. No, it was a great weekend.

Got a great story. My Dad, little brother, and I were fishing from shore at our local private lake during trout season. My little brother was a twat and didn't give a fukk, he was around 8 years old. My Dad kept telling him to always watch your rod. Well he didn't and he hooked a big one and it took his pole over the ledge it was leaning on and out into the water, and we could see it slowly being pulled out into deep water along the bottom and then disappeared. My Dad was so pissed at my little brother.
An hour later the guy fishing next to us is reeling in what he thought was a fish and it was my brother's fishing pole he had hooked. Gave it to us and my Dad took it and started reeling in the line and son of a gun there was a 7 pound trout still on it.

It was pretty windy this weekend so I left my fly rod at home and broke out the ultra light and hit my favorite secret trib.
It did not disappoint, as usual. I suck at taking fish pictures, it's so hard to hold the phone with 1 hand and the fish in the other trying to give some sense of size. They all look thin and lanky the way I hold them.

I had a chit story for me.
So me and my girl go saltwater fishing (we are pretty new still, about 2-3 months into having our rigs during Covid) and don’t catch anything at our spot we usually go to.(caught small fish but no reds or anything like that) We move spots and I hook up a squid just to try it and cast it in. I guess because I got the sweet spot I got a bit not a second after it hitting the water. Started dragging out my line (keep in mind this is my first big boy I ever hooked). I panic and get excited cause I’m super hyped I got it and I could feel it’s a big boy. Start reeling it in and not letting the fish pull away and my dumb ass keeps tightening the drag more and more. Soon as I see the silhouette of the red in the water reaching the top my damn line snaps... I was so pissed and just fished the same spot for like 2 hours hoping I’d get the same fish while going over **** I could have done in my head .. didn’t catch **** and went home beating myself up the whole day at my rookie mistake .

Oh and caught a marlin off of Mazatlan, Mexico first time ever going for marlin in my life. Not really an ocean fisher. We had an 8 hour stay at the dock from our cruise ship we were on and my Pops rented a 4 hour charter and I got the only one, wasn't big for a marlin but was still 152 lbs.
