I know I'm just talking chit. I've looked into going to Croatia since that is where one of my great grandads is from and some of my cousins who live there have reached out to me but I can't imagine picking Croatia if you live in the US and have no personal connections there. I hear the beaches are great but the US has some world class beaches too

For example Tulum, that whole area of mexico was incredibly peaceful and safe 10+ years ago, now because the increased amount of tourists also demand more drugs the whole area has turned into a violent warzone with rampant ecological devastation to meet the demand of the incoming tourists, it's a shame really.
Yep I heard about the problem in Tulum with all the ecological devastation you mentioned. Same with National Parks. Utah for example has seen a lot of tourism over the past few years and they didn't have the resources to handle it. Hopefully they will be able to be well maintained and human activity won't do much damage to the ecosystems in the parks.

LOL'd well it's neither here nor there now. I wanted to go to Split and Dubrovnik but I couldn't get ample time to get off during that time.

Flight ops are down a crazy amount compared to last year. It's gonna be a few years before they go back to precovid levels.

Same thing happened for 9-11 but alot of my co-workers think it'll be worse with this

I went to Thailand when corona started becoming a big deal lol. I flew through South Korea a day before the US said it was a hot zone.

I already had to cancel two more trips so I'm ready to go on another one. My company has banned non-essential travel, and once thats lifted I'm gone for a week at least.

I've still got some family there and if I ever go back to Europe I wanna go there. Both the places you mentioned are down on the coast and all my people come from the mountains on the border near Slovenia

The biggest thing they enjoy is actually the not having to be working part. Wich gives yout the clue as who's the culprit in this dynamic.

Depends on where you're from. If someone from India stops reproducing is a drop in the ocean, if a person from the US does not then its a BIG contribution:

The usa popullation is 5% of the worlds population yet they consume 24% of the worlds energy. That's a nasty imbalance right there

They don't travel, they pretend to travel and post it as their "thing to do" on their online dating profiles.

They love the idea of traveling.

Millennial travel won't end until Instagram ends.

Probably yes and no, but as for me during pandemic it made me realized how much I did miss going out and enjoying life because of pandemic. It made me realized that life can be so short that anytime soon things that right in front of us can be taken away, and we all just take it for granted because we are all used to the idea that there will still be tomorrow but no one really knows what will happen tomorrow.
