the dad arrives to the scene without his phone, ok, but then leaves the scene without his son to get help, just to come back. ok and? what was he expecting? leave with his son like he should have done the 1st time?
I'd like to get an update on this as soon as it comes out

IDK, story sounds fishy. Like first, guy is dying, calls his father, his father rushes to his aid, yet leaves his phone home, so he has to go to a gas station to call the cops? Why not call the cops first and then go to your son's aid?
Second, they're in the middle of nowhere, someone had to be looking for one of them, or all of them. I don't believe this was just a senseless crime.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Looking at the story, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the result of one of the Ten Crack Commandments being broken.

A few things that didn't make sense to me with the dad.
How did the dad 'forget' his cell phone? It was his only means of communication with his son. What if he couldn't find him? And you forget it?
Why didn't the dad call 911 as soon as his son called him?
Why didn't the son call 911?
Why didn't the dad use his sons cell phone to call 911 when he was at the scene?
Why didn't the dad take the son to the hospital right away? Instead he leaves him dying on the side of the road while he drives off to call 911?
None of those things really add up to me.

When I read about this the other day, the story was that the 3 old friends were meeting up to do some fishing in an area they'd fished before, but which was off the beaten path. It's a small town. Everyone knows everyone. Guy #1 shows up in truck #1. Gets murdered. Guys #2 and #3 show up in truck #2 just after guy #1 is killed. Killer(s) turn their attention to them and kill guys #2 and #3. Killer(s) leave. Guy #2 holds on long enough to phone father for help. Barely alive. Father knows exactly where they went fishing and rushes to his son's aid. Forgets his own phone or doesn't use cellphones. He gets there and finds his son in a bad way. Either he can't find son's phone, it's dead, or he doesn't think to use it, so he rushes away to get help. It's not that fishy sounding when you think of it. Who knows how they'd react in that father's shoes.
Either guy #1 stumbled on something going on, or there are some random killers on the loose, or somebody was laying in wait for him.

Yeah, must have been a drug deal gone bad. Maybe cartel related. These guys look like they’d probably be armed most of the time. Who wouldn’t carry in Florida with gators around while fishing. Especially at night.
